We can only hope that the community makes use of the World Hub, when it is available, to apply the necessary taxi-route updates to the stock airports.
Asobo will, of course, be able to amend those details, if encouraged to do so, for the airports involved in their World/City updates, but it’d probably be expecting too much for them to do a total trawl of all of their airports.
I am very disappointed with Beyond ATC voices over the gulf region in the middle east … Very weird accents that never exist in real life. They sounds like people with zero knowledge about English and hard to understand.
I hope the developers identify this issue and improve the pronunciation quality.
Is this with the basic or Premium voices? I’m more than happy with the basic, but sometimes thy can be difficult to understand and don’t always sound like the correct accent. You can switch the basic voices to an English base in the options if it’s too bad, useful for non-English speakers.
I’ve not flown the Gulf Region with BATC yet so can’t offer an opinion.
Unfortunately, the effect of taxi pathing on AI (to include BATC) is not super clear, nor is it easy to implement. Out of all the things we can change in the world hub, taxiways and parking spots take an inordinate amount of time, mostly due to the inefficient SDK ui and lack of tools to better/automatically align those things.
That’s a shame, as if MS/Asobo aren’t going to be able to provide the resources to provide accurate default airports, then the least you’d think they’d want to do would be to provide a means for the community to be able to do so.
Haven’t the SI devs managed to provide a tool that allows taxi routes to be easily amended/inserted, by individual users, as that might provide some ideas for the look and feel of a feature to be included in the SDK for developing World Hub airports? Any time spent on this by MS/Asobo would probably pay back in spades, in terms of airport data accuracy.
It might be a premium voice. Hungarian (premium) accent is pretty far from the actual one too. There is a topic for such issues on the discord channel, should be reported there.
Spanish accent sounds like a child in his/her first english classes. No one speak this way in Spain. I haven’t flown to other spanish-speaking countries, but if the accent is the same, is so weird.
Basic voices with accents are horrible, premium are better, but they also suffer from the same incorrectness in terms of pronunciation. Nobody in Spain pronounces English like that. An accent is one thing, and incorrect pronunciation is quite another. BATC pronounces english words as if they were spanish, with the Spanish pronunciation rules and not those of English. That is why it’s sometimes difficult to understand what they are saying. And I know that the same thing happens with French.
I’m having little success doing EHAM to EGLL by this route
having mainly these issues:
seems like it won’t recognize flight plan afeter cruise level (fl 250)
amsterdam center won’t pass me over to london center
no descent is given
london center seems like won’t recognise my fligh plan and therefore won’t make me descent, approach etc
It’s best if you join the BATC discord and report your experience in the relevant channel, with attached log file. The devs are flat out already with issues so I’m sure they are not reading here, and they can’t fix anything without logs to debug it.
Doing this doesn’t guarantee a speedy fix because there’s a lot to work on, but I’ve reported many bugs, and quite a few of them are now fixed. One of those I reported and there was a patch with a fix released within 2 hours. Can’t fault the team for the effort they are putting in.
Sometimes even simbrief assigns a bad altitude. On my las flight with the HondaJet simbrief planned FL430 on an eastbound flight, which being over 410 should be a westward one. Also BATC had no problem with it
