BeyondATC

On the top page of the EFB, (where it shows send to ATC) scroll down to the very bottom, I believe the command is load/save to this PC.

When I go to menu in MSFS 24 and go back to the sim, the connection with BeyondATC is lost. Anyone facing the same problem?

It’s a bug, Simconnect appears to close when pressing ESC. It’s been reported to MS, but meanwhile the devs at BATC are looking at a workaround.

How you could get this? I have FSLTL models installed, but BATC only displays 2 aircraft in Madrid-Barajas (in FS2024).

The amount of traffic in view is very much dependent on how much there was at the time your sim settings are drawing from the traffic database - which remember is NOT live and comes from a dataset in February/March. This has been explained many times by the BATC team

I think there are always more than 2 planes at Madrid-Barajas, any day and any time. It is one of the busiest airports in the world. But thanks for your explanation, there are things I didn’t know. I think BATC and FSLTL are not yet fully compatible with MSFS 2024, that may be the problem.

Do you have Little Navmap by any chance? If you go to Barajas in LNM it will display aircraft parked there - click on them and you’ll see the source of the model, should be FSLTL. If it’s not (might be a scenery model) then FSLTL is possibly not working for you so you’d need to check it is installed properly in the MSFS2024 Community Folder.
The BATC Discord channel has very comprehensive advice on this sort of thing and the mods are very helpful if you can’t see your problem in the FAQ. They do make a point that BATC and FSLTL are working okay in 2024 with maybe a few display bugs on some of the FSLTL models.

Currently BATC uses only Simbrief, let’s see, if they also takes the MSFS 2024 plans

First there will need to be a way to export FS24 plans to external tools, otherwise they couldn’t do that anyway. I’ve not looked at the API docs so no idea if there is such a thing, but it’s not something asobo needed so there’s a good chance it doesn’t exist.

According to their Discord the devs of BATC are “looking at it” but from a distinct lack of enthusiasm I don’t expect to see it any time soon unless Asobo make changes.
TBH from what I’ve seen so far anyway, Simbrief makes a far better job of flight planning and, as it’s free, I wonder why folk are so resistant to it?

Unless you pay navigraph for the latest AIRAC the free simbrief uses years old navdata which causes screwed up flight plans in some cases.

I subscribe to navigraph and am keeping it because their apps are much better than the default FS24 ones and integrate very nicely into the new FS24 EFB.

It’s ironic that the BATC devs said they went with using sim scenery taxiways (as opposed to Navigraph taxiways like SayIntentions) so as to not require people to pay for Navigraph, but then went and required SimBrief which creates navaid conflicts if you don’t pay for Navigraph.

I think the reasoning behind the sim scenery approach is scenery can be out of date - missing runways, taxiways open/closed, missing terminals, etc, rather than people not paying for Navigraph.

The last thing you want is to be directed to land at a runway that doesn’t exist in the scenery that you’re using.

I sound like a broken record, but we really need the world hub open again, more than ever. AI is not going to resolve these issues. It’s going to take continuous work.

Since I installed MSFS 2024, BATC reports a fatal error every time I try to connect. Does anyone have a solution?

I suggest asking in their Discord. They are very helpful over there. They’ll likely ask for some log files to help diagnose and fix it.

Yes, I asked there too, but there is no answer at the moment and is frustrating not being able to use this ATC. The error occurs in both simulators, 2020 and 2024. It’s annoying.

Have you tried a different flight plan? I’ve encountered this message once in the past and it was due to a flight plan BeyondATC didn’t like.
