BeyondATC

Have you tried a different flight plan? I’ve encountered this message once in the past and it was due to a flight plan BeyondATC didn’t like.

Yes this happened to me today for the first time. It gave me the error message I think it was five times.
I muttered some incantations and added a few anglo saxon expletives and it came good. So dunno…

Yes, I tried various FP’s from different airports. Same result.

My expletives don’t work at all

I thought it was my flight plan at first. I changed it from EGNX/LEMH to EGNX/LEPA and that didn’t work either. I then changed it back to EGNX/LEMH and it was ok. All a bit weird.

Just tried and I’ve got no problem connecting to either MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024 with BeyondATC so it doesn’t sound like a general failure

Does MSFS 2024 have an equivalent to the “Help Menu” in MSFS? The reason I ask is for my addon Flow Wheel if you want to assign a controller button to up and close the addon you have to assign it to the help menu command

Do you mean flo pro by parallel 42, because its not compatible for MSFS 2024, yet.

Apologies if I got wrong end of stick

Yes that’s the one. They have already said on their website that if you purchased any of their addons more than 12 months prior to MSFS 2024 realease date there will be a “small charge” to update to 2024. So how many other devs are going to follow suite? I’m really glad that I didn’t purchase MSFS 2024 and decide to try out on Game Pass. Total cost £8.99 for a one month Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

I couldn’t find it…

This is from the Parallel 42 website.

If product was released less than one year from MSFS 2024 (November 19th 2024) release date upgrade to 2024 is free

If product was released more than 12 months from MSFS 2024 release date $2 upgrade fee.

It’s not the cost which is nominal, it’s how many other Devs will follow suite with higher upgrade fees which bothers me. Or even worse Devs who say they can’t make their products compatible and want to try and sell a new 2024 product.

I’m a little bit lost why you post this in BATC thread

Hello all,
Please stay on topic for “BeyondATC”.

Thank you!

Copied from Discord. I’m intrigued to know what the new feature is…

We have an exciting new feature that we will be announcing soon that will replace traffic in the Experimental branch so access to it will remain quite relevant moving forward.

A big thank you to everyone who helped submit bug reports during the alpha release of traffic. There are still quite a few issues that exist with traffic, but now they are much fewer in number and we’re ready to work on them in the main branch. We will be moving the traffic over to the public in the next few days and replacing the traffic in Experimental with our big new feature which we’ll be ready to announce soon. Stay tuned!

Multiplayer maybe?

From a purely selfish perspective I hope not as I don’t have any interest in multiplayer.
I was more hoping for VFR for the odd occasion that I fly it.

Yes, VFR, I hope for it also.

I’d be more than happy with VFR.

For those who aren’t on discord, the complete message from Captain.

Hello everyone, we’re excited to say that our final ‘feature complete’ addition to traffic will be entering into the next experimental patch. That means that once we verify its stability we are ready to move traffic into the Early Access branch for all our users. As a reminder, this transfer of traffic to the public branch is a free update. Traffic has always been part of our core feature set and we don’t have any intention to charge anything extra for it.

This brings us to what the experimental branch is and what we use it for. The experimental branch is a place to ‘stage’ new features and verify their stability before we bring it over to the public branch for all to use. This does not imply things brought over are bug free - far from it. But it does mean that they are stable enough to be considered ready for the public branch where we will continue to iterate on them. With tens of thousands of users and a small team of 3 core developers it’s very easy for us to get overwhelmed with bug reports. The experimental branch is a way to suppress the amount of bug reports we get to make sure we can manage them appropriately.

When you purchase the Supporter’s version of BATC this is primarily a way to give us more support. We give access to the experimental branch as a ‘thank you’ to our users so you get something fun in return for your donation. What the experimental branch is NOT is a paywall for features. All features that start in experimental will end up in the public branch. So we want to encourage all users to think of the Supporter’s Pack in this way - please do not purchase the Supporter’s Pack to get a single feature. Do so only if you want to support our development.

To that end, if you purchased Supporter’s Pack exclusively to get access to traffic you may feel it’s unfair that we are now moving traffic into the main branch, and we can understand this stance. But here again we want to gently remind everyone that this is not what the experimental branch is for. We issue refunds when our program doesn’t function on the customer’s machine, but generally do not issue refunds for much else. So please do not purchase the Supporter’s Pack for a single feature. Do so only if you want to support us. We will not be issuing refunds for the Supporter’s Pack since it is a donation - not a paywall. Please keep that in mind before you make the purchase.

We have an exciting new feature that we will be announcing soon that will replace traffic in the Experimental branch so access to it will remain quite relevant moving forward.

  • Aircraft Sequencing
  • Runway Logic
  • Airport ‘birds eye’ logic that controls aircraft movement and hold
