[Mod Edit: retitled to properly express topic summary]
To signal to potential buyers of Bijan’s products, that his product is no longer developed, that the Discord is censored and blocked for the discontented, that there are bugs, and a loss of FPS.
This is not correct on the part of this creator who has changed a lot in recent months and his long absence.
Silencing unhappy customers is admitting low morality.
Just move to REX Accuseason’s it’s good and has continuous dev support. Even months before his absence there were bugs I reported that was claimed to be fixed in a pending marketplace update. Those bugs are still there.
I still don’t buy that the last post before he locked the Discord is by Bijan himself. Looking back through emails between us his standard of English is very good. In the posts he’s placed on Discord since he’s been ‘back’ it’s anything but.
Also, why is he in touch with (presumably) Asobo support re the Autoseason? It has absolutely nothing to do with FS as the process runs entirely outside of the game.
How someone can have an almost 180 degree personality change in less than a year is very odd indeed. It’s all just a sorry state of affairs.
I’ve also switched to Accuseason, which can currently be bought for £16.99 on JustFlight. FWIW if you set Bijan’s terrain masking to 50% in Europe and 30% in North America it vastly improves the look of Accuseason, at least until their own masking is ready.
Accuseasons isn’t going to be mapping trees to the right trees for the locations (such as palm trees in Hawaii, etc). I would prefer to stay with Season since it does more than just seasons.
What was the original event that sparked his absense?
Once again, as mentioned few times, (read pinned message), my hands are tight. I cannot update the product anymore. Auto Season is not working after the last update but the season still works by copying the chosen season folder in community folder. I will notify everyone if there is any changes as I am in contact with support to team to figure out the auto season.

I, unfortunately, have to agree with the OP assessment. This has become abandonware with no update in months despite multiple SU. A one-man development team is an unfortunate situation when life happens. But when you sell a product to a community you incur an obligation of customer support. With the dynamic situation that is MSFS with its bimonthly updates, this obligation is understandably higher. It is an unfortunate situation where I have to move on to the much larger corporate developer having wanted to support the little guy. However, I will not continue to suffer with CTDs due to a bugged product. Accuseasion works great to include autoseasons, something that never worked properly with Bijan’s product.
Very disappointing to hear this. I’m not on that Discord so I wasn’t aware of what was going on. I’ll be switching to AccuSeason as well. While it lasted, Bijan’s product was very good. It’s a shame it ended on this note but REX has been around for a long time and will likely stay around.
I’m not sure many or any developers, be they corporations, one man operations or bored AIs, had any conception of the pace of change from this sim when it launched.
Had they known they might have been more heistant in taking everyone’s money.
A few more years down the road and a lot of payware will be dead, let alone freeware. Not many will spend hours rebuilding a 5 yr old product that’s barely bought any more.
As mentioned in the Discord - I believe this product should be removed from sale for the time being…people may be unware that the current version may cause FPS loss (it did for me) with no time frame for addressing the issue - and with the upcoming SU11 it may get worse. I switched to Accuseasons and have been very happy with product and REX appears to make sure the product will be updated as new SU’s are released from Asobo.
Not completely true, while not as prolific as Bijan once was but since I have purchased REX AccuSeasons they had added custom areas to Queensland, St Barts and SouthEastern US
I run the full REX Suite (WeatherForce off and on depending on the sim)
Quite disappointing to hear this about Bijahn , He was so dedicated and very direct with his customers one of the best I have seen in recent times . I truly hope He comes back from whatever it is that is caused a hault in his work . But if this is fact an abandoned issue than yes the products need to be removed from the marketplace until further notice . In which I would hope not be the case since I own all his products and he was very helpful in any questions or concerns I may have had and so many others .
Bijan had a major family issue (death I believe) so I don’t begrudge him anything. Although we thought development would last far longer than it did, life is like that. Ask anyone in Ukraine. I’m still using his product with no issues, although I need to change seasons manually, which is no big deal.
Same here, no issues that I’m aware of and I’ve only ever used the manual season option.
Also, based on his name there’s a good chance he’s Iranian, which means it’s very possible that he had to go back to Iran to take care of family issues and may even still be there. As anyone who’s watched the news in the last month knows probably not the best place to be right now and seems totally understandable that he may have much more important things going on than supporting gamers.
I think you’re both barking up the wrong tree. He is of Iranian origin, but If you read his bio on Discord there’s absolutely no way he’s been back to Iran. If you don’t have access there’s no doubt he’s had a tough life which is why many if us were so keen to support him;
Bijan was born in Iran. Like many of us as a child he dreamed of a career in real aviation. But that didn’t happen. After an - of course forced - flight from Iran, an extremely tough six months in Pakistan as a 14-year-old boy, sick and living alone on the street without money, he was lucky to be reunited with his parents who had fled to Thailand. There the family was given political refugee status. From Thailand, the Habashi’s moved to Denmark, where Bijan completed his education. The last major migration was to the United States. He continued to grow up there. Bijan is now 52 years old and lives with his wife and two daughters in Los Angeles, California.
Without wishing to sound harsh, he’s also not the only person to suffer loss, go through serious family illness etc in the last year. I have, and I’ll bet so have many other people here. It really sucks, but life goes on.
It’s not that the product doesn’t ‘work’ as such, but it caused roughly 8-10 fps loss in the SU10 beta. This seemed to be ironed out as SU10 was released but the problem has resurfaced with SU11. Not only that, it seems to be responsible for many of the stutters when panning which no longer exist with the product de-activated. Remember, Rex Accuseason had the same issue but their devs got straight on it, acknowledged the problem publicly and had it sorted by release, which is exactly what Bijan used to do.
Then comes the bizarre (lack of) communication since he announced he was ‘back’. Going on Discord and asking his customers for advice on how to use the SDK. Does that sound like Bijan to you?
None of it adds up for me, and I’m very sorry to see such a great product all but end up on the scrap heap. Even more so because, with all the added extras, it amounted to ~£50
