Binding specific threads to specific cpu cores - possible?

As I decide to wait for alder lake and DDR5 I have to stay for a while with my 8600k.

This sample go well up to 5.3 Ghz allcore but of course for a lot of heat and energy waste.

The core temps differ off about 4 degrees under load (70-73 on an 360mm rad). Now I think, when I can bind the main thread and the wmr thread to the most potent cores I will be able to push them to 5.4 whilst slowing down the others to 4.7 or so the get the most out of the CPU without torturing her to much.

Is this possible?

Possible but makes no discernible difference. I tried summat similar. All pain, no gain.

Just enjoy the game!

AS Fizelle said: useless exercise. Ideas of binding threads to cores are historical based on OS before W10. So … go flying. That’s the reason you bought MSFS for.
