Bing Maps/Graphics

When I initially purchased the MS Flight Sim, the graphics on the ground were very realistic. ie, when I fly over my house, it appears exactly to be from Bing or Google Mpas. Since then, I have probably made some adjustments and the graphics are very poor. I have changed the defaults back to ultra but the graphics are still poor. am I missing something? Any help appreciated.

check under the data tab if anything is disabled there.

If you living in the USA, then photogrammetry probably changed something. Turn it off and see if it like it was.

What should be enabled in Data?

I will check that to see if it is on. You say it should turned off?

The photogrametry was added fro the entire USA, so if you turn it off, it should look like it used to.

I am still not convinced the photogrametry at the moment is good enough to replace AI buildings. Well, it IS good, but I think there needs to be some AI additions to it to make it look less like “Chernobyl”

eeehm, no. There’s no such thing as photogrammetry for the whole USA. There’s just a couple of cities.

The main thing you want to check is that Bing data is enabled.
Photogrammetry can be turned off if you don’t like it, or suffer too much of a performance hit.

I stand corrected then. I havent really explored a lot in the USA since the update, but I thought everything was covered (like Google Maps has).

Anyways, could be that the OP is in one of those cities. Worth a try.

google maps also doesn’t have photogrammetry for the whole US.

You’ll need planes flying over an area making photographs in all directions to cover an area with Photogrammetry data. Yes, google is ahead of Bing, but they’re not THAT far ahead :stuck_out_tongue:
