Bird Dog, Saab Safir and MH-1521 Broussard coming from ATSimulations

Looks like a great line-up! Looking forward to the Bird Dog especially. I purchased the other Bird Dog offering recently, but it didn’t click with me. These aircraft will be a while, though. They are expected to be released next year.

Nice. Unfortunately, I don’t have an interest with these aircraft. The only Bird Dog I need is the first add on I purchased for MSFS, the Black Box one is good and all I need from that bird. It feels right. The others are just not my bag. AT does good work though, I wish him the best!

Yeah, that’s the one I was talking about. It’s too cartoony for me to be enjoyable. I uninstalled it after a few flights. First time I did that with any aircraft I purchased. I know what ATSimulations can do, so this will definitely be an upgrade.

I don’t know. It somehow resonated fondly with me. It’s ugly but has a ton of heart and soul. And it’s cozy with its great night lighting. The sound package is marvelous and all the creaks and squeals are lovely. FEELS like an old junky aircraft and I like it. Sorry you didn’t get that feeling from it.

+1 for the Bird Dog. Hope it’s not too far away from release and that it sounds decent. Safir looks interesting too as not familiar with it

Depends on your definition of “not too far away”. He said next year, I assume mid to late next year as this year is nearly done.

Ah ok cheers. Think I’d rather have seen the article on msaddons next year! Little long to wait

That’s exciting news! The Broussard and An-2 were among my favorites in FSX and now the updated AN-2 is one of my favorites in MSFS too. It’s great to see that he’ll expand the lineup. I’ll be getting all three of them, I’m sure =)

By the way… are ATSimulations formerly SibWings? The AN-2, the Bird Dog and the Safir were all part of the SibWings portfolio. I don’t think that’s a “coinkidink”

I completely forgot about SibWings’ Birddog and Safir, you’re right. If I remember correctly Andrei was part of the SibWings team and later founded ATSimulations, where he rereleased the An-2 after improving it.

Thanks for the info. The P149D is a firm favourite of mine in MSFS and the Safir was for FSX. Count me as in line waiting patiently. The Broussard will probably be on my shopping list as well.
So glad to hear they are back in operation.

Sibwings were a great developer for FSX, had the Bird dog & the Pitts, both great aircraft in both modelling & flight coding.

I wonder if they will have authentic sounds for the Hirth HM 500 engine. Oops, nvm, they run Lycomings. Only the Bestmann had the Hirth.

Oh yes, really looking forward to those, especially the Safir, that was one of my favorite aircraft in FSX/P3D

All 3 look pretty boring to me , hard pass on these

It’s of course a matter of taste, but I was lucky enough to get a ride in a Broussard about 10 years ago…I wouldn’t describe the experience as boring

It has the same engine as the Beaver, about the same load capacitiy, but is faster and has a longer range. And it is one of the loudest piston-airplanes around:

I loved ATs Broussard in FSX and I can’t wait to have it back in MSFS =)

I meant they looked boring as in they don’t look special enough to grab my attention and make me want them , they look like a multitude of other aircraft we already have in the sim

Is it only the look that’s important?

Thanks for the info on the Broussard. You have convinced me, it’s a same day purchase along with the Safir. Maybe a Christmas present? I’m happy to support their work.

@SteveW3647 I always thought all 3 looked very unique/special, especially the Safir and Broussard. I can’t think of another high wing, twin-tailed radial powered aircraft at the top of my head. But I’m probably biased, as I’ve been passionate about vintage aircraft pretty much my whole life.

But again, of course everyone can decide for themself and tastes are different. There are plenty of awesome airliner addons out there, that I know are close to perfect in every detail, but they are just not for me, as that’s not what I’m interested in.

I’m glad that there are developers out there for every need and I’m grateful for ATSimulations for bringing out those three classics, you might not enjoy them (nothing wrong with that), but I and many others for sure will =)
