Black avionics screens after update

Noticed in king air 350 overhead panel with volt meter bus selected to batt used to show positive charge going to battery now it’s 0

GTX1070, 8GB video memory.

2080 8gb , also setting ground vehicles to 0 seemed to have solved issue

2070 Super, 8 GB

GTX 1070 Ti 8GB

2070 windforce 8gb
I get an almost immediate effect with avionics blacking out or dimming if I switch off “use generic planes (AI traffic)” in the graphics options. Also 1000s of errors in the dev console at the same time. I’ve had the same with use generic planes switched on but far less predictably & infrequently, usually on approach to an airport.

When it happened to me, I was flying the King Air, and my system had a GTX980Ti, 6GB installed.

No blackouts for last 3 days, however my DA62 starts on parking with avionics switched on.

Update: my bug report has been logged by the team and is being reported as ‘Solved’.

Assuming we don’t find a full workaround for this, then I’m hoping it’ll be in the next patch.

Just a question: how would video memory affect avionics screens going blank due to instrumentation conflicts? You can hear switches and knobs turning when it happens, and the autopilot cuts out.

Edit: Also, to answer your question, I have a 1060 6GB

I have no idea. Avionics should be rather under CPU control exclusively. But who knows…

Interesting that we’ve all got nVidia cards. Wonder if changing the drivers would help?

Edit: Perhaps they’ve mistakenly routed AI aircraft work into the GPU in the latest patch and it’s caused some weird… thing?

Mine is a GTX 1060 3GB

Nvidia Geforce 970 Gaming 4Gb
But is not only screens going dark… switches moving by themselves too (fuel selector handles, etc)

2080 ti 11GB

GTX 1080 8GB
( Yes, editor, it is a complete sentence  )

Yeah I don’t see what the connection is unless they either A. have tried to route certain things through the GPU or B. are mistakenly thinking that we’re literally talking about avionics screens not displaying due to a display problem, which isn’t the issue.

Edit: I’m now so afraid that the one bit of communication we get and they’re looking into completely the wrong thing.
