Black Square Advanced Turbine and Piston Dukes

And to add to this, the AP mode annunciator above the attitude indicator also has click spots for the AP for the same purpose. I think that’s fairly well known but just in case anyone didn’t know.

I think we’re talking about the same thing?

Oh unless you mean that the annunciator lights can be used as buttons for the various functions.

Nice little touches there. The autopilot controls are the single worst thing to not have in your primary camera view lol, seeing as it’s the thing you turn on when you need to go looking around for an out of sight control lol

Yep, I use the right vertical rocker thumb switch on the left side of my Boeing yoke for the AP Pitch adjustment (left rocker is for elevator trim). #NoHardwareControlsWasted

It’s essentially replaced the 414 for me. I’m doing the obligatory around the world flight. Started at Palomar and am currently awaiting the sunrise from Dubai. Just enough automation to let me go grab a snack once in a while. I’ve had to fix one broken landing light and a fuel heater en route but otherwise trouble free after 33 hours or so. Curious what the engine state will be at 100 hours (currently showing 98%).

Doesn’t quite have the swank inspection/repair system of the Comanche but still pretty good.

do you every go outside my guy?? :joy:

Pfft. Outside is overrated ;-D But I live in Phoenix so I’m not entering the 110 degree heat if i can help it.

On a sim related note I think the a/c in the duke struggles in the heat. If so that’s a nice touch.

Especially if you turn on the fuel a bit early on the Turbine Duke in daytime Summer heat in Phoenix. (I learned my lesson on the BKSQ King Air in Tucson  )

What is this outside you speak of? You mean like using the drone camera outside the plane? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

This Outside sounds interesting. Does anyone know if it’s PC compatible?

Still waiting for the Black Square Baron 58 on Xbox

I picked this bundle up on Xbox Series X and it’s a great addition.
Having the 310R and C414 the BS Duke offers that little bit more. Really nice flying IFR (hello Germany) every switch is active. The tap glass was a fun touch. Ha ha
Flight model is really well done, very smooth and stable.
No issues so far on Xbox, highly recommend this package.

Just got my Quest 3 running with the Duke turbine.
WOW!

Wow, I did some night flying in my Dukes last night, and the lighting options and effects are second to none. Makes an extremely enjoyable plane to fly even better for night flying.

It has terrific night lighting. However, I sure wish they had state saving for all of those switches. I really wish just about the entire cockpit had state saving actually.

I will second this all the way. The state saving on this complex of a GA plane really needs to be expanded. It’s really just as important as being able to load different cockpit states in an airliner add on.

No state saving for cockpit lights unfortunately, but it’s possible to adjust brightness (between 0 to 100%) when you hit the lights on. Default values was too bright for my liking.
Just modify these values in here …/bksq-aircraft-pistonduke/SimObjects/Airplanes/bksq-aircraft-grandduke/model.base/PistonDuke_INT.xml (Stock Duke and Turbine has it’s own file):

Fuel levers can be also set as closed when starting new flight:
(Change these to OFF)

And closed Cowl Flaps on a cold start (100 is open):
