In real life, you need to pull on two metal knobs to lift part of the power lever up above the beta range gate, before you can move the power lever back into the beta range. It’s not really something that can be done by accident.
I would love this as well, with the original C-208B
For me, using an xbox 360 controller, the throttle stops decreasing at ground idle. To go into beta range, I have to let it stop trying to decrease, ie take my finger off the button, and then decrease it again, ie press and hold down the button again, for it to go into beta range. I guess that’s how they simulated the beta gate. But that didn’t stop me from using it.
I also programmed when I press both increase and decrease power buttons at once, it jumps to idle. So it’s quite simple for me to slip it into beta quickly.
I took the 208 for the Community Fly-In today but noticed the GPS didn’t have the flight plan on it, while the navlog showed every waypoint. Is this a known issue?
depend of wich gps you speak about, using the Working title 430, you will face issue since he doesn’t support the syncronizing yet
would be great if you describe more your issue (did you import a specific flight plan file or has it been filled from world map, wich avionics and their version were you using , maybe can you share the flight plan etc)
From the manual, I understood that that was resolved with Version 0.1.4 of the Caravan. I reinstalled 0.1.4(a) just now. WT 530/430 is up to date. The flightplan in question is the one from yesterday’s Community fly-in (which I downloaded here), but it also happened with selfmade ones. I’ll quickly disable WT’s GPS and check.
Edit: with just WT’s GNS430/530 (v. 1.1.3) installed, flightplans are shown but the Garmin startup is omitted.
Using 1.1.4 alongside will obviously cause the error.
Well, if that can reassure you, I tried it (with the pln file) on my setup, got the flight plan on the GTN750. Unfortunately, like you, it’s not displayed on the WT-GNS530/430 (using the WT version 1.1.4 aswell). tried with a clean community folder (only the caravan and gtn750) with same result.
So I guess you were right and this is probably due to the most recent 1.1.4 version.
Tried a custom flight plan in canada, gps was filled as expected.
So I m wondering if it wasn’t caused by the amount of custom waypoint inside the pln or if it s probably a specific issue of this area (trying just with departure ENLK - Arrival ENTC, and the flight plan is again empty … )
I think I also did a direct FROM/TO flight a few days back in central Germany - same result. No flight plan stored…
At least I now know that it’s not a problem on my end. Thanks for checking!
I too have had issues getting the plan to appear on the WT 530, recently in the BS Bonanza, so the plane may not be the issue. It’s not a Navigraph issue as far as I am aware. I think that manifests was waypoints that go to the North Pole, and even that that’s on the map screen, not the 530.
A to B plans never seem to be an issue, so it’s probably custom waypoints causing it.
As a workaround, if the GNS530 doesn’t display the world map flight plan and you have the GTN750 installed, open the GTN750 toolbar panel, go to its flight plan page, select the contextual menu, press the “import” button and then choose “Import from sim ATC” if the GTN750 gives you the choice.
The GTN750 toolbar panel will then load the ATC Asobo flight plan into the GNS530.
Can you open the doors of the C208? For many not an issue, but I prefer it in my game play.
You can’t, unfortunately. That’s something that requires the exterior model to support it, and the BS mods use the base Asobo exterior, which does not. Opening doors would require an entirely new model, and BS has said that’s beyond the scope of their products.
Such a shame!
But you can open the window! ![]()
I have trouble with the GNS530. I have 1.1.4 installed. And the latest Caravan update (fresh install).
AP won’t catch the GPS flight plan, although GPS set as CDI source in the GNS530.
But most importantly, first: The 530 doesn’t show the startup sequence. So I suspect it’s not working at all.
What do I need to check?
- No GPS mods in the Community folder.
- I don’t use the 750, or other GPS.
- WT GNS530 is the AAU1 one, and updated.
- Deprecated WT GNS530 is not installed.
I was on the magenta line after takeoff when I enabled NAV mode. It’s not armed, but active! But the aircraft goes straight…
look like an issue with the kap140 not detecing the gps, he s displaying NAV while it should show GPS … does this happend once or it s everytime ? I recommend you to install the “Deprecated WT GNS530” wich I assumet is the 1.1.3 thought it s the core gps (look it’s size is like 7Mo vs 8Ko for 1.1.4, so I think you have some file missing) and need to remain install to works
also if you read few post above, we realised some issue using the 1.1.4. as the actual version of the caravan has been published to work with the 1.1.3 I think if you use only the package 1.1.4 you may face issues (like flight plan not loading)
their is a thread interesting regarding WT packages :Do we still need both versions of the Garmin GNS 430/530
Happened repeatedly after cold and dark. Worked when I started on the runway.
I had the 1.1.3 uninstalled. Will test again with it.
I uninstalled the 1.1.4 GNS and it started working for me…
Interesting!
I get a boot sequence now, but it shows 1.1.2 – is it correct that the simulated device software version is 1.1.2, but the addon version is 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 now?
I am at the ground, battery and avionics on, just to test it: The yoke is tilted to the right, yes! But it still shows “NAV” in the AP. Source is “GPS”. Would I need to get on the line and correct heading to the AP to change to “GPS”?
you’re getting yourself wrapped around the proverbial axle here. when the a/p annunciator says nav it’s going to follow your route in the gps whether that’s a gps flight plan or a vor radial (gps or vloc respectively indicated on the 530 screen).
