Black Square TBM 850 Discussion

Yea it’s like a 2 position switch. My axis does not change the propeller pitch…I think that is what we need.

I’m not sure if I fully understand but I have two levers on my controller (Turtle Beach Velocity One) and I have one mapped as a throttle and second one as a propeller pitch controller. And I can smoothly control the propeller pitch with it in practically all propeller aircraft I own.

That’s great I can not accelerate from a standing stop with my prop set to low

OK thanks

I will try it

I am not sure if it can be called a limitation by the sim since SWS Kodiak is able to feather without a problem (aerodynamical, audible, visual):

I didn’t screenshot the LO idle config but that works as well.

Thanks I tried it ans this button is a good solutions;

Now long-haul flights are a breeze.

Today i made some flights again with the TBM 850… Also tested the headphone simulation. I recently tested this function for the first time on the ground while idling, and that’s when I noticed the strobe light interference noise.

I noticed that the strobe light was audible to varying degrees, sometimes more, sometimes less, and occasionally not at all. At times, it couldn’t be heard during the flight, yet it was audible again on the ground, though really only when parked with the engine idling. So, perhaps adding a toggle button isn’t all that important after all… But of course, it can be good to have this option. :man_shrugging:t4:

@TyFighter3910 Nice touch with the sound isolation, works great as a nice option when you want to rest one’s ears. For others’ reference, it’s highlighted below. (Did this work with the default sounds? I hadn’t even noticed it before.)

One cool thing that Nick has added to the more recent planes is variable headphone noise cancelling, via an invisible/virtual knob near the headphone jack. This will be nice when backported to the TBM and other planes. Hoping this soundpack can accommodate this functionality when it comes out hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

How do I uninstall the Echo19 sounds?

Run the installer again and select Uninstall.

Simply delete the “echo19-tbm850-fs24” folder from the Community folder (or Community2024). It’s like any other addon.

Is there a user guide or manual for the Echo Audio Pack? Is this pack just installed to the Community folder for 2024 like other addons? My added liveries do not show up and there is no click spot for the headphones. I am just trying to figure out if the sound pack is really installed…Thanks!

Try making sure your aircraft is in the community2024 folder alongside the sounds and liveries. There’s no guide because install is just like any other mod, and our installer is designed to make the process easy if you buy through us or JF.

The noise reduction/headphone toggle is activated by clicking the “Pilot” button on the ICS panel - as photographed above by Steve - @CaribRaft

No, the default aircraft does not have any built in noise canceling features as it relies on the default TBM 930 sounds

there is no echo19-tbm850-fs24 folder in my Community folder however there is a Community2024 folder

Inside of which should reside the echo19-tbm850-fs24 folder, because the Community2024 folder is the default installation folder for the TBM sound pack. If it isn’t in there you may have uninstalled it already or never have installed in the first place.

Personally I’m not a fan of the fragmentation into two community folders. Everything worked perfectly fine when we only had one Community folder. Now everything is scattered across two folders. Some addons install in one, some in the other. It’s a right mess that adds entirely unnecessary confusion.

So if I have Echo Sounds and liveries folders in the “Community Folder for 2024” along with the TBM Aircraft folder (not in the “Community2024” folder), should I be all right? Or do I have to move all those folders to the Community2024 folder?

This is literally the only addon (of a great many I have) which installed itself into my Community 24 folder. I’ve never seen anything in there before :slightly_smiling_face:

You don’t need to move it.
