oops … thanks good spot

no problem.
Thanks for the update. It’s nice that there are devs out there who don’t abandon their work. Wouldn’t have expected an update to this plane - especially on the 3D model and the texturing.

There are two little things that I wanted to get off my chest though:

  1. Would it be possible to make the tyres a little darker again. They all appear as if they have grey dust clinging to them
  2. The new suitcases in the back look a bit as if they were made from coloured glass.

As I said: very little things and I don’t know if other people see it the same way, but maybe if you have time you can look that over once more.

Thanks again.

Different to fly than before, weightier & slower to respond & I’m probably going to get into trouble for a while, but on the other hand it seems to like flying very slowly a bit better. Really like the very crisp new dash, class job there, although the ASI in kts instead of mph is going to throw me off

Oops, not just the longnose either - just looked at the shortnose I’m fliying & it’s the same Trislander plate. Guess they over-etched a bunch…

Tiny bugs while we’re bundling:

  • The fuel pumps make noise when switched on with either the battery off or the breaker pulled - they don’t actually make fuel pressure, just noise. On the version I’m sitting in ( shortnose, no aux tanks ) the pump will make fuel pressure with one of the aux fuel pump breakers in for that side of the a/c, does’t matter which one.
  • The a/c seems to roll backwards if you do a runup test with the parking brake on. Did this happen to the Tri too? I’m sure I’ve had this in another aircraft anyway.
  • There’s a surprising amount of pitch trim change on flap extension now, definitely much more than the previous one & I remember flight tests saying there wasn’t very much noticeable trim change ( this isn’t exactly a bug as such, just something that stuck out )
  • One end of the props ( both ) seems to have either duplicate tris or a smoothing error.
  • Can’t tune Cardiff NDB ( 388.5 ), presumably that’s still an Asobo limitation though?

Nosecone being mapped from the side rather upsets the Winair ( and similar ) and the spinner’s wonky groov is just an annoyance, would be nice to fix one day but eh, one day.

Thanks for all the effort! really is just minor things. Don’t want to downplay how good this is at all, I just know my memory & I’ll forget stuff if I don’t write it down…

Take a look at the pen on the clipboard. The colour of the pen matches the livery of the aircraft.

I look forward to testing the update when it’s available for the marketplace version in, oh, 14 months…

I remember Graham saying they’ve gotten much better about getting things tested and approved. I don’t think it’ll be quite that long.

@NightMercury358 mid through doing a first flight and it’s nice, thanks for the update!

Seems like keeping the SimObjects folder didn’t pick up the hours on the Hobbs counter model in the actual cockpit (that started at zero again) but it has logged my new flight in addition to previous flights in the v1 plane so that’s great.

A couple of small things to add to your pile (if you’re going to be doing an update anyway to fix the Trislander nameplate)…

  1. The hanging coil cables still swing the wrong way initially (as @MojaveHigh2379 pointed out upthread). I mean if I fly straight then give it a left rudder, the cockpit swings left relative to centre of the aircraft, so the cable should try to stay to the right… but it also swings left first.

  2. When shutting the pilots window it would be great if the reduction in sound could be delayed a fraction so that it matches up with the animation of the window actually shutting. At the moment it cuts the volume as soon as you click. Opening the window is fine (slight delay for first bit of window opening feels/sounds right).

Cheers!

EDIT: 1b) also it seems to wobble about a lot (fast vibration) when aircraft stationery on ground and engine running. Can that be filtered out?

  1. Seem like engine auto start is not working. All it does is move left mixture lever to 58.9% but nothing else happens. Discovered when my engine stopped by itself when I stopped after landing (not sure why, pilot error I suppose!!)

  2. The pilots window can’t be interacted with a joypad in the DEFENDER version. Mouse works. All the other variants work with joypad too though.

Do you know if the custom camera settings work for V2 or do we have to set them up again? Not a huge deal, just wondering.

Anyone else having a problem with the clipboard not working? With the trislander installed the clipboard doesn’t work in either plane. When I remove the trislander from the community folder it works fine in the islander again.

Clipboard works fine for me, thought I don’t have the trislander. Only thing I noticed was that using a hardware switch to control the flaps didn’t trigger the flap switch animation. I know I’ve been in a conversation about that before but I can’t remember what plane that was, I don’t think it was v1 of the islander, so possibly a sim issue ?

Oh, that and no manual …

Oh, and CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER the constant CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER petulant whining from CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER the 2yo …

@NightMercury358 Any chance you could set up a Discord channel so that we don’t break the support rules here? Looks like we all have some questions.

In the spirit of these forums, though, I will say that the new version of the Islander is great! Well done!

Love the update! I have also found a Nassau airport addon which makes my island hopping all the better. This update was so worth the wait. Crossing my fingers now that the community makes some island/tropical fictional liveries for this beautiful plane.

Nice Video thanks, shame there is no narration or commentary ?

do You Have Bump / Normal mapping turned off ?
the Wing top seems to be very smooth and featureless in your video
I just checked the model and it appears to be working fine here

Well I got the email today, but when I tried to use the link to download I get this:

Using same browser, same PC that every transaction with BBS has been used for. Even using the link on the original purchase email brings up the same thing. Never had this before - no, it’s not really an issue but it is a frustration.

If you mean some graphics settings, i’m using HIGH preset.

we do not handle “Support issues” Here please contact us via email with your full details

I have to do that every download, I din’t think anything of it to be honest - it’s quite possible it’s my browser restrictions.

@ClydeFJ can’t confirm I’m afraid, flown two versions so far & the clipboard has been fine. Haven’t tried flying the Trilsander yet.

I have both planes installed and have no problem with clipboard.
