ICAO is TAA I believe

I wouldn’t consider accurately represented instruments a small item, though. That’s more of a mandatory thing, to be honest.

Don’t worry about it being one item. With this and the placard between the fuel gauges still saying ā€œTrislanderā€ you already have two items for a future update. Also, there is still the issue with some switches not making any sound on the first use. That’s already three items!

Please don’t get mad. This is all tongue in cheek.

Not mad … But I think there is an echo ?

There’s nothing that stands out as a problem now, right? probably time to just sit back & let everyone collate problems for a while & then do it all in one go, I suspect you probably want to do something different for a while

This is actually the biggest reason I was looking for the 211 update.

As for the Trislander placard, I found the decal texture for that. So in the (imaginary) plane, I removed the protective plexiglass cover, taped on a pic of a lady friend of mine, and then put the plexi back on. So now, not only do I not see the incorrect placard, I actually have something much easier on the eye to look at!

pretty sure thats what I implied LOL

Yeah i know. But at the time i could not buy it at the site. But it is okey. It comes when it comes.

Hello @NightMercury358

How do I get past ā€œMaximum devices reached. Contact the vendor to add more devices.ā€ when trying to get a device activation code so I can go download the airplane?

I’ve emailed since receiving the new update email to both contact and graham to no avail.

Thank you

Have you tried this ?

Greetings

Yes, that’s where I’d enter the email address I had bought the planes on to receive the activation code which I would then enter in the new box. But I get said error message instead so I never get another such code to proceed.

I’ve written two emails to you to contact and graham respectively but didn’t receive reaction to them. It’s from the email address I had used to purchase the planes with. So you should be able to cross check.

Yes I received the email but passed it on as I am unable to deal with DPD processes .
I will chase it up this morning

I’m new to the islander. I recently purchased it when I saw Graham’s announcement that v2.0 was coming soon. I did a few practice flights yesterday to start getting the hang of flying it. One thing I noticed: when I go by the charts in Section 5, page 11 of the BN2 Flight Manual (available on the Blackbox website), I am not able to rotate at the specified takeoff safety speed for my weight. Even with nearly full up elevator, the airplane will not rotate until a higher airspeed. Am I missing something obvious here?

The airplane flies very well using the ā€œAlternative procedureā€ for takeoff specified in Section 4, page 12 of the flight manual, which specifies rotating at 65 KIAS or more. But the ā€œRecommended procedureā€ says to rotate at 4 kt less than the speed at 50 ft safety height in section 5. For most aircraft weights, that would mean rotating at around 50 KIAS. I have no elevator authority at that speed.

you possibly need a couple of degrees of Nose up trim to assist with elevator authority and getting off the ground

That’s confusing, because this thing has an excess of elevator authority - if you hold the nosewheel up when you touch down you can keep it there until you almost stop, and for a rough-field takeoff you can get the nose in the air very early.

Admittedly I’ve not had time to try 2.1 yet… I will try it now, in fact.

Edit: I’m very tired, but took it for a jaunt around St Maartin… and, well, yes, half the elevator authority seems to have disappeared somewhere, it’s really nose heavy  The aircraft is pitching down on power application rather than as the manual says, up, and there’s no trim change at all with the flaps now which probably isn’t helping either. With a chunk more trim I got the nosewheel unstuck roughly where the book says but trying to hold the nose up on approach is quite hard work. That was at about 6,600lbs though which is about as high as it gets. I’m not sure I can do a rough-field t/o with it like this, but no time to try it atm.

Flaps seem to have very little if any drag either - I can’t keep the extremely unresponsive engines up in their slightly more responsive range trying to do a very slow landing :frowning:

I’ll try using more nose up trim on the next few flights and see how it goes. I was trying to set the trim at the most nose-up side of the green takeoff band, but I’ll try going a few more degrees nose up. Incidentally, I carefully set the weight and balance for each flight and made sure that the CG was within limits using the weight menu in the sim. Most of my flights were done at approximately 6,000 lbs gross weight.

Fingers crossed for MP release tonight.

Just curious as to when this update will be released to the Market Place?

not a hope…

please read the threads … it can take a while

Update on elevator effectiveness: I tried using 2 degrees of nose-up trim, and I had elevator authority at the correct rotation speed. But after takeoff, the airplane pitched up too violently and was trimmed for much less than the 65 kias initial climb speed. I just tried another takeoff with a touch more than 1 degree of nose-up trim. That worked much better.
