When flipping the ‘external power’ switch, it stays on for about 3 seconds and then automatically flips back off. Anyone know why I can’t get external power to work?
Are you on a parking spot?
I tried it after taxiing in and parking and had the experience you’ve described. Spawned back in on a parking spot at the same airfield and it worked as expected.
Clicking on the external power panel in walk around mode had the same effect in both cases.

this might be it. i slewed from my original spot to a better spot closer to the small terminal at the small airport i was at. its possible that the external power only works if you’re exactly in the correct parking spot?

Very nice find. I was able to replicate your issue by slewing away from a legit parking spot to a random area and the external power switched off in 3 secs. When slewing back to original spot it worked again.

I believe that’s an Asobo thing. I have that with multiple aircraft. If not in one of the Asobo parking spots certain things like ground power don’t work…
thats strange, because its just a propane tank hooked to a blower on wheels. should be able to be set up anywhere

In this case it’s just a mobile generator but it should still work anywhere. It’s just providing electricity to save the a/c battery
Maybe what you’re describing as “a blower on wheels” is an air start unit for engines that can be started that way.
