No I did not assume that. It was just a general comment based on my own experience that if a utility like that causes me issues I bin it specially if there is a lot of choice available.
I have been using McAfee Total Protection for some years now and havent encountered any issues with general PC use but more specially music and Video productions, or for that matter msfs.
It also seems to work well with other utilities like Macrium Reflect.
Some of these utilities go through various development stages. I recall for example that years ago I tried Norton and found it very intrusive but I gather these days it is a firm favourite of many so it has obviously evolved.
But no, I would not touch Defender at the moment.
