Blurry ground textures in MSFS 2024 - what are your experiences?

All the texture appear blurry despite Ultra settings , high speed net and high end RIG.

I am back to MSFS 2020 ,sometimes I feel 2020 could have been just improved with 2024 in ground details, vegetation and other feature as an additional upgrade. This platform of msfs 2024 is completely unstable,
I wish there were some laws to protect consumers into selling unfinished product that are not ready to release , what was shown on trailers , by getting in promoters to promote 2024 before release is now appearing like a false promise.

I’m doing a flight at this very moment in the SU3 Beta with maxed out settings and it doesn’t appear blurry on my end (cruising at ~3,000 AGL).

The randomly blurry textures on terrain I think is because of streaming during game.

My experience (SU3 beta 1.5.1) is that PG/TIN regions have sharp imagery while nonPG regions are often blurry. Its worse in mountainous areas.

Some PG regions still seem un-optimized such as Olympia Washington, Seattle, Renton, the D.C. area (mostly between DCA and IAD vicinity) and I’m sure many others.

This is Puerto Natales in Chile on the SU3 v1.5.1.0 build:

No blurriness on my PC.

Here near Bogota, with a LOD of 200… I’m running on high/ultra with a 9800x3D, RTX5070Ti, and 32GB of RAM. The ground textures are horribly blurry.
I should point out that I’m using SU3 beta 1.5.1; nothing seems to have been fixed on this front.

As you can see, this is the second priority bug to be fixed with SU3.

All maxed out. Italy. 4090

Here’s an example (1.5.3.0). Its in the LA area.

Where PG has been apparently optimized, the textures look great. Nearby autogen areas are blurrier in comparison but sometimes - usually on mountains - its as though the code can’t decide what texture to put and it chooses blurrier textures for some reason.

Look at this first shot at the upcoming mountains. This is just north of KRIV I believe. The PG textures are crisp but the small mountains are blurrier and the one small mountain/hill on the far side of the nearest cluster is really blurry.

Notice that you can see PG buildings well past the blurry hill:

and heres a little closer and the hill is less blurry now:

In nearly all cases the autogen textures are a bit blurry but sometimes they are really blurry for no good reason. Heres another example:

but man the PG areas can look fantastic!

I wish they would use the same technology for the autogen that they do for the PG/TIN because it obviously can be a winner.

You are absolutely correct. I haven’t been able to fly on the internet for the last 18 years, was stuck on MSFS X (2006). the requirements to fly on line could not be obtained till 2024, Thankyou Starlink. They (Microsoft) basically limited their customers/users to the big cities that have good internet. Rural areas suffer greatly. I have seen up to 200MB streams to keep 2024 smooth. So if your internet gets really slow they fixed it so you cannot play. I’m sure they do not understand this as they have constant super internet and never see the problems that happen from slow / insufficient internet outside of the citys. They build to the maximum capabilities of the machines and internet, ignoring the needs or even the capabilities that their customers have or have access to.

I have been out for a few months and now, this problem is also happening in FS20!! :man_facepalming:

Wow, I thought this was me! I’ve returned to 2024 after a while having some freezing and CTDs, but that’s getting better after some useful tweaks on YouTube, but man, after some contiguous time playing 2024 in the New York tri-state area I’m not impressed with the lack of sharpness compared with 2020. Would downloading the PG cities and local areas as in 2020 (manual cache) help 2024 scenery? I’m playing 2024 via Gamepass and I know you need to purchase to download but I’m not going shell out this amount of money if the ground still looks blurry. Any thoughts here? Thanks in advance.
