Bombardier CRJ 700 flight KPDX to KSFO

Flying in Alaska/SkyWest livery for that Pacific Northwest local flair:

The cockpit feels nice; similar controls to the bigger airliners, though not as many of the automatic goodies. (No autothrottle! Flies more like a giant CJ4 than a tiny Airbus  )

Engine powerrrrrr

Hello!

Somewhere in central Oregon, in the general vicinity of Salem

Farther south, southern Oregon or northern California. At this point I’ve started having trouble with cabin pressure and am descending a bit early.

Cabin pressure got as low as 20,000-feet-altitude-equivalent, with a constant outflow of 300 (feet per minute? is that the measure?) – even after I was below 20,000 feet and this would require actively pumping air out of the aircraft. I think this is a bug, and reported it to Aerosoft.

Crossing the Marin headlands north of San Francisco. Golden Gate Bridge visible at center, with orange supports peeking out of the fog. San Francisco is on the far side of the Golden Gate, back center & right.

Jogged back over to Oakland to line up for my landing approach, now on the way into SFO. Alameda and Oakland visible behind me.

Deploying landing gear

I’m a bit too high; had trouble getting the glidescope to follow automatically, and ended up doing a fairly dirty landing farther down the runway (possible only because the runway is long enough for a much larger plane – don’t try this in real life!)

Parked at my gate.
