Both liking the sim, and Disgusted

I am almost uninstalling MSFS as I am more and more frustrated by what we, customers who have paid, are going through without being able to obtain an explanation. I find MSFS to be a colossal job. it is a marvel of technology. it is monstrous work. but, there is a but.

I just came across the trailer “Around The World: Europe”, I am seriously starting to get tired of seeing trailers in 4K 60 fps highlighting graphics that NOBODY, I mean NOBODY can get, even the happy owners of the latest CPUs and an rtx 3090. Nobody has this level of detail with this fluidity. If this is possible why don’t you provide it to us when we have paid? If that is not possible and all of these videos are fake, I sincerely hope that the people who are in charge of this kind of marketing manipulation are having trouble getting to sleep at night.

What you don’t get is I Didn’t buy this sim to fly with render scaling at 60% and all settings on low. If you enjoy using the sim like this it’s your right. I don’t see the interest but it’s your right

If you have worse specs than mine and you run it at 4K 80 fps, i’m afraid that you sim looks like minecraft. That’s not the goal with such a great sim.

Maybe your monitor is broken?

Are you trying to run a gtx1080 @4k ultra settings and what monitor do you have?

I recently purchased a 4k 28" gaming monitor and let me tell you the graphics are freaking superb, always in awe and jaw dropping. Prior to that new monitor I was playing/flying at 1920x1080 and had to adjust the nvidia panel as well as in sim graphics to make it look good. With the 4k monitor I could lower setting and some settings not even needed to be high or ultra and it is crisp and gorgeous. The 3d setting used to be at 200 now lower it to 70 and absolutely rocks with amazing performance. I never realized it would make a difference.

Quick question: why did you demote my rank for stating the facts?

Since Japan patch, the graphics become horrible unfortunately. I agree with the fact that msfs is not what it should be in term of textures quality but perhaps they will upgrade graphics. I think that they took this issue into consideration.

J’espère de tout mon coeur qu’ils régleront ce problème le plus vite possible parce que j’ai perdu cette envie de réaliser des vols VFR et découvrir la splendeur du monde durant tout mon temps libre.

Why would you be running at 60% render scaling and low settings with any rig that exists today? I have a modest GPU and CPU (GTX1070 and i7-6700) powering an ultrawide 3440x1440p monitor, and I average 30-35 FPS on customized high/ultra settings. This post seems a bit melodramatic…

4K and 80 fps are not reasonable expectations for the performance of any simulator on any rig. This has nothing to do with the simulator itself… try getting better performance out of X-Plane or P3D on its highest settings.

No sorry my summary is not up to date. I now have an RTX 2080 ti.

You can check every benchmarks on YouTube, i’ve never seen such a configuration Getting more than 35-40 fps on bush and 25 fps on busy areas, in 4K ultra.

And my monitor is the U28E590D

But let’s be honest : whatever graphic you get by tweaking the settings, you, no more than me have reached the promise magical result. That’s the main problem for me. I don’t Want to have to tweak anything. That’s not normal.

In my case I have to lower it to 70 otherwise at 200 its a severe slideshow, would even CTD. But honestly it doesn’t need to be at 200 with the 4k monitor

“Tweaking” is not normal? Then why did they even provide a settings interface? Keep in mind what I did isn’t even considered tweaking by any reasonable standards. I dragged sliders within the sim settings menu… it’s not like I went into config files.

If it helps, the sim automatically rated my setup at High. I selected high and flew, and I realized I wanted to bump up the terrain and object LODs along with anisotropic filtering. So I dragged the LODs UP to 200 (not down…) and increased my anisotropic filtering. I barely lost a frame.

If you’re getting CTDs, that isn’t a result of the graphics settings being too high. It’s more than likely because your GPU is over-overclocked. Take off any slider boosting you’ve done and you shouldn’t get any CTDs. I had this issue too.

what drives me crazy is that i feel like i’m the only one on this forum shocked that i didn’t get what we promised. before the game’s release, Microsoft officially communicated the configuration needed to run the game optimally. My current configuration is well above the configuration shown. The question ends there. my game should run automatically exactly like what we see in the trailers. It turns out not to be, and I find that shocking.
