Hey folks,
I have been searching everywhere for the cheapest panels I can get. I decided to start with a radio panel for the A320, since I plan on flying Vatsim a lot, a radio panel is invaluable and would save a lot of time with mouse clicks. OpenCockpits looked pretty good, except that they do not offer their plug and play modules as DIY kits to build, and 250 euros (almost $300 US dollars) is way to expensive for me. And I struggled a bit to figure out what I would need to build this.
So I settled on hispapanels, as they offer the panels as DIY kits that saves me a lot of money I am only paying about $115.00. I can put it together, it was just a matter of finding the right components for the panel that was the main problem.
My question is about IO boards. Since I am not building a complete cockpit right now(and I have no space to build one lol), and am building the parts one at a time into the future, I would like to know how to connect all of my inputs and outputs.
Is it as simple as connecting them into an arduino? I have tried MobiFlight, but they have a very limited support of input and output boards.
I might start a blog website detailing about the adventure of building cockpit parts for amatuers like me if anyone might be interested…
Thanks for any help for a noob!
edit: I forgot to say that I have an Arduino Mega that is supported by mobiflight, and I do plan on expanding the number of panels that I have with it!
