Bought scenery on Marketplace, didn't get content?

Hey all,

Bought the vancouver Aiprot on the marketplace. Closed sim, opened it back up, and it was nowhere to be found. Ended up buying it again, Anyone know how I can get a refund for first purchase? Thanks.

Microsoft Store Download? Did you have a look at downloads / updates or are you Steam version.

I would create a ticket on zendesk using the ‘Submit a Request’ option at the top of that page. (Note you need to be logged in with your Microsoft account.

There is an option when creating a ticket for “Marketplace Content and Missing Content”. They should be able to advise further on what to do and/or they may refer you to support for the Microsoft Store.

I have also moved this topic from #self-service:bugs-issues to #community:marketplace

I have the steam version

I submited it.

Hi @Larsked.

Just out of curiosity, how many transactions do you see in your Steam Purchase History? If you don’t know how to find it:

  1. Open the Steam Client
  2. Go to the Store page
  3. On the store nav bar, hover over ‘Your Store’ and click ‘Preferences’
  4. On the left sidebar, click on ‘Account Details’
  5. Click ‘View Purchase History’

I have 2 transactions

Okay, Zendesk is definitely the way to go, please keep us updated.

Update: Microsoft won’t give me a refund and told me to talk to steam, meanwhile steam won’t give a refund and told me to talk to Microsoft.

To say I’m disappointed would be putting it mildly. Microsoft straight up stole my money.

Did you check your order history on your Microsoft account, did that have a duplicate transaction?

@Larsked Can you confirm that Steam said something to the effect of:

your credit purchase was completed successfully, the flight credits were sent to MSFS and what happens beyond this point is outside of our control, please contact Microsoft?

I feel your pain on this one. Personally I think its completely unacceptable. I have a number of games on Steam, but due the large cost and being one of Microsoft’s flagship sims I decided to go the MS Store route.

First, you need to check your microsoft account for the order. You can do that here. Once you have confirmed the duplicate charge. Go to Microsoft Store Help. You can choose to get help in the browser & you start with the virtual agent. From there it is a bit convoluted, but you should be able to figure out how to get a ticket opened with the billing people. Once you get to the right place, they will take care of it promptly, but right now, trying to get to the right place is painful. I went through the exact same thing–oddly enough with a double charge for CYVR. Good luck!

Did you get cash back or Store Credit?

If you are asking me, I got a refund to my credit card.

Yip I was. They haven’t gone through the process so I was just trying to make sure they knew what they should expect.

Are you running the Steam or Windows Store version?

Windows Store, but Windows Marketplace itself is Windows Store regardless of where you bought MSFS from.

EDIT: @Nyx1819 says Windows Marketplace bills the Steam account.

Except it does bill your Steam account, not your Microsoft account. So, following your workflow is still worth a shot, but I’m not sure how much they would be able to help.

As an example, here is my purchase of London City Airport the other week

Interesting. I guess the question then is whether the OP sees the double charge in the Microsoft account. If it is there, then presumably billing Steam is no different than billing a credit card and they would just refund to the Steam account. Otherwise, you may well be right–and that would truly be a mess!
