I’ve tried this many times. I even tried changing the key mapped to Brakes (from default NUM DEL to comma). My Cessna 152 simply does not stop once I taxi onto the runway and the instructor ends up resetting my position every time.
Is it just me? (Is it just me trying the trainings?) Do I have to do anything different, cut the throttle, for example, before even thinking of applying the brakes?
What I’ve noticed about the brakes is that they are not instantaneous like they were in previous MS Flight Sims. If you are sitting on the pavement, already stopped, move the cockpit view down so you can see the pedals and press on the brake button and you’ll see that the pedals depress slowly, so you’ll always drift further than you expect. The brakes on a plane are not like the brakes on a car. So you simply need to cut the throttle and step on the brakes earlier than you think.
