Bridges, roads you name it

Well what a load of c*@p. Cannot fly under bridges. MSFS2020 is for the X-Box and definately not for a PC. Do yourselves a favour people and go to Boulder City and fly towards the Hoover Dam and see the motorway or Highway traffic driving on the dirt and not the roads (Roads that would make anyone sea sick). This is a joke. The only thing I can deal with is the graphics which s pretty good, otherwise to me personally this is a failure, similar to that rubbish Microsoft brought out after FSX which was a complete flop. This needs a hell of a lot of work to even get close to the old FSX or P3D and X-Plane. :space_invader:

He paid for the sim, and I can understand his frustration

I wish I could complain about the issues, but Im stuck looping on the install. No response on Zendesk (4 days) not surprisingly and Steam will not refund.

Ahah, nice joke.

Wait.

It’s
 it’s not ironic ?

Absolutely right. It’s a marvellous-looking sim (probably the best looking flight sim to date), but it has a raft of issues with visual glitches, including orthographs, textures, water masking (mostly AWOL) and a ton of other stuff. It’s an irritation - and frequently jarring.

We live in hope these things might one day be fixed.

You have to look at it differently. Yes, a lot of things are wrong and in some ways it doesnt match up to the other sims, only fanboys and girls think otherwise as far as I am concerned. But its a very good base for a new sim and hopefully we can get Asobo to alter things we think need changing, add features and tools we need to improve scenery and over time we will end up with a brilliant product.

What is missing is lions, tigers, and bears - oh my. Just kidding, I was flying over Africa on a little mini-safari and I saw this running around. Must be the LOD drawing distance from the patch

What is wrong with you whining children, come on. If it doesn’t work for you, wait for the next update. The potential of this Sim is way better than anything else on the marked, it’s not like fsx P3d was perfect either.

To quote one of the forum moderators, can we discuss topics not people please? K Thx.

OMG
you can’t fly under bridges! Hehe
ruins the whole simulator, now it’s just a game.
Sorry, but it just made me giggle.

There was exactly that option and I used it. 1€ for the gamepass to try it out for a month.
Don’t trust the hype, that’s a general rule for the entertainment industry.
After a week or so I bought the game by the way, since I see the potential.
But it’s just my opinion. Do what you want, rant on a forum, uninstall the sim, whatever.

For the amount of money paid for the FS2020 Premium Deluxe edition (and maybe a few dollars more - cue Spaghetti Western music track), I invested in Orbx’s Global Base, Vector and a couple of regions for FSX. I get very good scenery even at low VFR altitudes, correct ortho, Points of Interest and updated multiple airports, fields and strips, at a frame rate that gives me a steady 30-40 fps with no stutters and drops. This helps maintain the immersion factor that we all seek in a Simulator. And an enormous market full of quality free and payware aircraft. The Learning Center alone in FSX makes the eight tutorials pale in comparison.

Asobo has some huge shoes to fill. But first, stabilizing basic flight sim features that were marketed as tentpoles. I suspect, as many do, that this will be years-long effort.

By that time, the user base will have upgraded again to hardware that may actually run MSFS 2020 in much the way a minimum spec rig like mine can run FSX at Ultra - without (mostly) breaking a sweat.

For those who are frustrated (like me), take a break from this Early Access product. As the Pandemic has proved time and again this year, life is too short to spend energy on things you can’t influence and change. This product will be what it will be, but it will take years to figure out what exactly that will be. Spend the time on things that make you happy. And not surprisingly, that might be things you haven’t picked up in a long while. That was true for me.

YMMV.

So, still here then?

The problem with Microsoft is all the bllsht and lies they came up with about MSFS2020 and they must be really p*ssed that they sold the rights of FSX to Lockheed Martin, and they have done something positive with FSX by producing P3D. Now the latest update screwed up that the WEATHER does not work, toned down the rubbish they produced because the X-BOX cannot and will not be able to to handle the detail and graphics. Microsoft’s 2004 update even screwed up the installation of the deluxe versions of this rubbish. They have some work to do, and it took so long to produce this pile of trash.

“Spend time on things that make you happy”

Switches on computer, loads up MSFS

There we go

“Steam-Library-MSFS-Uninstall” - making room for CyberPunk 2077 and Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access. There, I fixed it for you.

Good for you, uninstall it to ‘make room’ :potato:?, and may Cyberpunk be the game we all hope it will be.

And you get restricted to fly in those regions. Not the best tradeoff in my book.

And that without counting the weather engine with volumetric clouds, and the modern lighting engine that is miles away of anything you can achieve with FSX.

I’m guessing you’re not impressed with MSFS, then
? :smirk:

ever heard about star citizen, hahaha ?!
