I think this might be region specific and possibly due to bad processing runs on the satellite texturing side. I don’t know how often they reprocess these if this happens though.
Why do I say this?
I noticed recently flying around Mollis in the Alps that the colors were off. I don’t know if this was also compounded by using a weather preset that could also have been affecting various factors.
eg:
Some color is ok and some is “off” to my eyes, specifically the light green blue terrain, and perhaps the icy type stream colorings (top right 2nd screenshot)
Not sure what is triggering it.
A couple more in EU that are better.
Normandy Coast (Arromanches of D-Day Mulberry harbour fame), looks aok (and I fly in IL2 here as well)
Spain (near Bilbao) ok:
By comparison I was just doing a couple of quick test flights in NZ and US and colors++ look fine to me, no issues. (apart from shadows sometimes, but that’s a current tech/processing/data limitation)
I vastly prefer this over 2020 and have no wish to go back to it.
Update: Run some more tests switching presets and those weird green/blue definitely seem lighting related. It could be some of the presets are old or incorrectly set and need updating. Unsure, but same location can have a very different look at same time of day under different lighting.
