Bring back realistic colours and look from 2020

I agree! to me 2024 looks really cartoonish 2020 looks much better for me

2024 has ruined 2020.

At least for me. Pilot and 3D graphics dev here, and I have to say 2024 color rendition and exposure has improved quite a bit in a lot of situations, and improved massively in some specific ones. It’s situation dependent though, so depending on where and when you fly, you’re going to get different results. Then it’s also subjective of course, but I’m willing to bet most players will notice a positive change in their experience.

Of the above photos, the Indy Racing League looks the best to me

Great shots. Yeah I couldn’t go back to FS2020 now. The lighting and over all look of FS2024 is so much better in most cases. I think part of the problem for a lot of people is that the seasonal terrain mask does need quite a bit of tweaking in some areas.

Now that I’ve got a decent PC, the clouds and atmosphere in 2024 is the real immersion killer. They look awfully fake and just bad in general. However, the ground textures are awesome and a bif step above 2020. Just bring the clouds and atmosphere from 2020 over to 2024 and you would have an awesome looking realistic sim. Seriously get rid of these clouds.

I strongly disagree and honestly wonder how anyone could mean this seriously. I feel the same way about this entire topic. Really missing a downvote button here.

It’s kinda like asking to bring the colors from fsx back to 2020 - ok not quite so dramatic lol - lighting system in 2024 is probably one of the sims best stregths.

Why are you claiming that’s stock FS2020 when we can see it’s got brown trees that don’t exist in the base game and the picture filename has “Rex” in it?

I like how after so many comments saying FS2020 looks too yellow/orange, these screenshots actually show it has a slight greenish cast compared to FS2024.

Excellent demonstration. 2024 is leaps ahead of 2020 in colour and lighting

Yeah. For Candy Crush!

here’s another good example

What’s interesting about the new lighting is that is it objectively more accurate to real life but that does not automatically mean that it looks more visually appealing. If you ask me, there are times in the full sunlight where everything seems more washed out. And the trees, while much better at close distance, don’t look as good at altitude.

Some of it is familiarity and as I fly in the new sim more, it becomes more normal and often looks much more realistic. The ground in many places is “softer” with less apparent detail than 2020. Each sim looks better in some cases, so I wouldn’t be able to say which one is actually better overall. They are different.

Because they were REX clouds, has nothing to do with the colour! And these are bijan seasons trees - but the lighting and colours are original MSFS2020 !

For me these trees don’t look like standard msfs2020 trees, and yes a good example with the MSFS2020 it looks like you’re looking through sunglasses. An island in the middle of the water with white sand and on such a day - everything would shine even more - yes that makes MSFS2024 better!

What you can honestly say about it, it varies from place to place - in addition, the sesonal filter is activated on the MSFS2024 - I think that also makes a difference !

Who likes the 2020 visuals better there’s nothing easier than to go back to that sim. But please don’t change a flightsim that looks in its vanilla state like this:

Thank you Asobo.
