Bug Found: Wind in World Map not transferred to flight

Found the bug that led me to make the first version of this post. If you set winds in the opening World Map panel, the one where you put in your flight plan, then whatever you set there will NOT be transferred to the flight. After you click Ready to Fly to begin the flight, all those previous non-real-world wind settings seem to be ignored. So if you wait until the flight is actually running, then you can set the wind and gust and it will be effective in the sim.

How do you set a wind layer to span a certain range of elevation? Whenever I add a wind layer, it appears at ONLY the elevation inserted. I’d like a to create a “Custom Clear Skies” setting with a little turbulence from the ground to say 4,000 feet and smooth above that, as is usually the case IRL on a warm, clear day.

There’s the sweet, sweet relief of getting above the radiating chop, that is psychologically significant, that I don’t experience in the sim.
