ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

I’m encountering a persistent issue in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (Free Flight mode). Every time I try to change my departure airport and aircraft, the game ignores my selections and starts me at LFPG (Paris Charles de Gaulle) with the A320neo by default.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.

  1. Go to Free Flight from the main menu.
  2. On the World Map, I change the departure airport (e.g., to KSEA or EGLL) and select a specific parking spot or runway.
  3. I also choose a different aircraft (e.g., Cessna 172) from the aircraft panel.
  4. I click the blue “Start Flight” button at the bottom right.

Hi CareerMage7575,

I cannot confirm this error. Could it be that you are using an addon for this airport? I suspect that an addon is causing the error, which does not necessarily have to be the addon for the airport in question. To narrow down the error, I would recommend uninstalling the last 3 or 4 addons. If that doesn’t help, uninstall all addons. Maybe that will help.

Best regards, Koschi

Hello, thanks for your reply!

I’ve just started playing the game and I’ve got no addon.

Anyway, thanks for your reply!

You can still try to delete the rolling cahe and then switch it off completely. But then I wouldn’t know what to do.

I’m not sure the reason for the scenery change, but you do have the A320 selected.
I always start by selecting my aircraft first, then my starting location.
See if the starting order makes a difference.

It doesn’t work. Thanks anyway:sob:

Could you make the following test: set MSFS to English and test again ?

Thanks, but it doesn’t work either:anxious_face_with_sweat:

Have a look at this post: Cannot change aircraft or airport position - always stuck on the same setup - #3 by TenPatrol, same issue was reported in this topic.

Try

I’m wondering if maybe one of the system options, specifically the UTF-8 beta, could help because I remember that there used to be a problem where no matter what you selected in MSFS, after a restart you always got the same airport and airplane.

Try.

1 Exit MSFS.

2 Go to
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\MISSIONS\Custom

3 Delete folder named CustomFlight

4 Install English (United States) language pack

5 Make sure to enable the Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support option.

Go to Windows settings > time & language > language & region > administrative language settings. Click > change system locale and check Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support.

Click ok and restart PC.
