[BUG LOGGED] Blurrier cockpit labels and indicators in VR since SU5

I wish I could compare directly with SU4, but since SU5, I’m finding that with the same render scale (or even higher than before, thanks to performance increase), I have more trouble reading the indicators and labels in the cockpit. They’re just blurrier/softer than they used to be - they used to be absolutely tack sharp with the Reverb G2 in SU4 with high render scale. As I fly mostly GA IFR these days, I get noticeably more tired and need to bring my head forward for more often than I used to. In OpenXR, I tested with render scale 100 and 130 (I used to have 70-80 in sim and 130 in OpenXR in SU4 for maximum sharpness)

It almost seems like render scale has been downgraded somehow. While I can’t say for sure whether landscape/outside world is also affected, I am positive about the cockpit.

While I wish I could directly compare with SU4 side by side, I had compared SU4 with XP11 and found similar levels of sharpness, but with SU5 XP11 is much, much sharper for the same render scale (used 100/100 as baseline). So SU4 = XP11 > SU5, thus SU4 > SU5…

This has been marked as “unable to reproduce” in the VR feedback snapshot, which is disturbing since this is one of my biggest issues with SU5. Unfortunately I do not have pre-SU5 screenshots to compare the difference.

What I will say, is that I am using a Valve Index and my SteamVR SS setting is currently at 165%. To get to the level of clarity I had in the cockpit prior to the update I need to push that to around 190, which kills my frame rate. My in-game VR render scale is currently 100.

As I mentioned in a different thread, I would be glad to post my hardware and software configuration details if the devs thought that this would be useful in trying to reproduce the issue. I would really hate to see this be closed because they cannot reproduce it.
