That is a good thought actually, because the area around the Matterhorn that has been patched up is very limited. Just a few miles away, and the typical Swiss morphing unfortunately returns. I should probably investigate it further. Sadly I don’t have any footage of the Italian Alps from before the update, but it should be easy to tell whether the morphing is what we would expect from new high-res mesh, or on the level of the improved Matterhorn.
If the area was indeed touched-up only because of the Italian mesh interfering it would be rather unfortunate, but since we can see that the lower LODs in Norway overall look better than they did a year ago, there is still hope left. What happened to Gibraltar and Lord Howe Island strikes me as either a huge error or a temporary rush job, so I’ll be keeping a close eye on those as well.
