[BUG LOGGED] Power pole / pylon in front of Geneva (LSGG) runway 22 too high

Geneva airport (LSGG) has very high power lines right in front of the runway 22.

Zendesk ticket #105542

Something has caused those to be spawned there. If they aren’t those towers in real life, what are they?

They are there in real life, just not as tall. See Google streetview

I think they currently have only one model of utility lines in the game which they use for everything.

Ah, right, very tall. Similar issue to scale of trees in some cases.

Same as here:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sbsp-approach-to-17r-has-a-power-transmission-tower-in-the-glide-slope/344105

The OpenStreetMap data doesn’t provide a height (just a type) but Asobo should add some cleanup steps to at least not render them close to runways since that’s simply unrealistic.

  1. They can, with the gateway system
  2. They can apply rules. Same as tree height, but for power lines height.

Exactly - and that’s then automated work, not manually verified

Just damaged my landing gear on ILS approach then found this post! The sim ATC also said runway 22 but this has also changed to 23 in real life. Voted!

Eh. Just found this out today and crashed right into it. Was such a beautiful flight till then. 1 soul onboard.

Let’s hope Asobo fixes this with the upcoming update Germany - Switzerland,
due end of this month.
Btw. Thanks to Plasmastorm for the fix

Has anyone had a chance to check this in the World Update 6? Am I doing something wrong, or is the pylon actually still there? It sounds unlikely that a dedicated regional update knowingly left an approach in a major Swiss airport unusable, but I still have this pylon.

I checked with my add-ons disabled and it was still there. Not a big deal for PC users like myself that can use the free add-ons to fix it but XB users will have to dodge it

The pylon is unbelievably still there after update 6 Switzerland.
Absolutely ridiculous from from the part of Asobo.
One still has to use the correction made by plasmastorm.
Thank you very much indeed by the way

Geez, what? The Pylons of Death are still in front of LSGG after the WU6? Disappointing

I mean, they give an extra-kick to every approach (especially at dusk or dawn), but there was hope that this issue was enough zendesked to have caught attention for this recent WU6.

Same issue today after 2hr flight. Will be applying the mod. Hope it works!

This problem is still here, just flammed up my TBM

I can confirm that the Pylons of DeathÂź in front of LSGG runway 22 seem to be gone now!

They were right abou there:

You can still see the pylons in the satellite imagery (ground texture), but the (way too high) geometry is now completely gone. And just to confirm that this is with the default LSGG (and no other scenery addons or “pylon removers” installed).

Must have happened with the SU 7 (the DACH WU 6 did not fix it at the time)

I tried that scenery out today after it appeared to have disappeared if one loads at LSGG. However after a flight from Gatwick I found the Pylons had returned. I uploaded a fix to flightsim.to that should be online shortly if you just search for it.

Well I confirm, this issue has FINALLY been corrected by Asobo.
(Took 1 1/2 years
)

Even if flying from Payerne MIL the pylon is gone and is not any more
in the ILS / glideslope path.
