Just to confirm, I have just experienced this. I checked all settings - including the mixer sound outputs - and they were all fine, but there were no engine sounds from any plane. Environmental sounds were present. Closing and restarting the sim and flying the exact same plane in the exact same location now gives me an engine sound. This is 100% nothing to do with the end user; nothing at all changed at my end.
