Is anyone else experiencing awful performance after the last update? There was supposed to be some “optimization fixes.” It’s a stuttering mess on my computer. It’s shifted from “limited by main thread” to dropping a complete frame by the GPU once every second. FPS is completely inconsistent and not smooth at all.
Some background info:
I mainly like to fly glass cockpits like TBM, A320, and 787
Is there something seriously wrong with my computer? Or is just the current state of MSFS? Do those with a similar setup have performance issues? Am I trying to set things to ambitiously? I don’t really know what I could upgrade to make things better.
I’m in the same boat. No changes to settings, but suddenly the performance is terrible. I got some hints of it with the Eastern U. S. tour, but I thought maybe it was somehow related to flying low in the Caravan. With the A32NX, the game is hardly playable for me at the moment. 10fps, stutters and lags. I have no idea what just happened, but this is the worst performance I’ve ever experienced to date. It would be great if somebody could offer any suggestions.
This was all working for me very well prior to today’s update. I’m basically running ultra–being cpu bound I don’t seem to get any real improvement by dropping down to high.
It was stuttering a good deal before as well. Any sort of glass cockpit plane was challenging, even with instrument refresh rate low. Now the frame rate and frame time fluctuates, drops, and spikes much more.
For example tonight I was in the A320 in KATL. Starts out nice at 40 FPS then I pan around and it drops some. I look to the right and it drops 15-20 FPS then goes back up to 35-40 with stutters.
I go outside the plane and look in one direction and 22 FPS. Taxiing was around 25FPS and once I got in the air 30-35FPS with frequent stutters. It seems to stutter more and have wildly drastic fluctuations in FPS now. From looking at the FPS monitor in dev mode the GPU is just dropping frames. Maybe they delegated some of the main thread processing to the GPU to try and remedy that issue? People are WAY more likely to be CPU bound anyway since the MSFS engine doesn’t multithread well.
I’ve definitely taken a huge performance hit with this update.
3080 and 3700x @ 1440p Ultra.
Running at about 25fps in the same areas I was getting 40fps previously.
I used to get awesome performance. This latest USA update has caused incessant stuttering in both the animation and sound. I have flown around for a bit to see if things settle down, and they did a little bit, but the problem persists. Maybe it is tied to caching? I have a Core i7 7700K @4.5Ghz, GTA 1080Ti and 64Gb 3K Mhz RAM, all running on a fast SSD.
I’m currently doing the US discovery flight. It’s unflyable at some points dropping to mid teens. GPU is sitting well under 50% most of the time and i’m still being tanked by the single CPU core.
exactly the same i have a good pc i9900kf rtx 3080 and the game is stock in a nvme ssd,64 gig ram, ,fps drops a lot since the last patch!!! lot of stutters, before this patch absolutly no stutters at any places in the game so ?? wtf is the problem ??
unfortunately it also happens on INTEL (at least in my case) two versions before the simulator was fluid and without stutters, now in the later the phenomenon is very accentuated
i9-10900k
Rtx 3090
64gb ram
100mpbs internet connection
4K resolution
Experiencing stutters even when using GA aircrafts. Gets worse when I switch over to the A320.
I turned on Dev Mode and it says I’m gpu limited but I still get a stuttering mess.
Spent one full hour playing with my settings with no positive results.
