The system automatically closed the thread 4 hours ago (as I type) as no one had posted in that thread in 30 days. There is no nefarious agenda here to close bug threads that need to be kept open or sweep them under the carpet.
In this instance I have re-opened the thread but be advised bug threads with no activity for a month will automatically be closed.
As others have said this issue is due to be addressed in the next (or following) sim update, i.e. in the first few months of 2021.
