Buildings much too high still in 1.9.5.0 Patch

look i re-downloaded the 2 files

And now what i have to do?

You have to rename and unzip the file

I’m sorry but I’m not sure how to say differently: rename A into B?!?

Compare these file names with the file name I’ve written above and you’ll see this matches (this is A), then read what file name you will rename it to (this is B). Other than this I don’t know how to explain it and you might want an official fix instead.

I tried this hotfix, it seems to solve the issue with tall buildings, but unfortunately I have constant crashes to desktop now in my area which had many ugly buildings around after the new patch (around EDSB and Karlsruhe). Does anybody else have ctds, or did I mess up anything else? Do I have to delete or deactivate the rolling cache? I tried LOWI for example, and it worked there without crash.

i think i get it look

You almost got it! 1) you don’t need to install any program just for unzipping because it is integrated in the system already 2) you’re looking into the zip here, but you have to actually unzip the content. Right click the file and look for anything like ā€œunzipā€ or ā€œuncompressā€

I do have issues, unfortunately. I’ve never had CTD’s, however yesterday after installing this fix, whenever I tried to load my VFR map, it crashed. This happened 3 times in a row, and never happened before.

(I haven’t touched my Cache - I use rolling cache set to 64GB, and have Manually cached all of Scotland and Florida).

Granted, I was using an add-on aircraft (JMB VL-3 Rotax 915i) though, so it may well have been that to blame. I’ll have to try removing this patch and see if it still happens.

I have also this issue.
At least around the airport around France.
I am taking about local and regional airports of course.

I think the VFR map crash is a known issue (also discussed in the forum). Go to settings and activate VFR map on every startup, and never close or open it again, then this should run smoothly…
I will try it now without this hotfix and will report, if crashes are gone…

Are you sure the activation is not sufficient? All my crashes happened on first loading the map. The following switching on/off didn’t crash the sim, but maybe it was just good luck.

No, I am not sure, I never dared to try it

Okay I am flying now the same region, so far no crash. Skyscrapers again everywhere in suburbs, but no crash. I have obviously an issue with this hotfix :frowning:
Okay, wow, as I am writing these lines, I changed the camera and the game crashed. It“s terrible

Was it anyhow related to VFR map switching?

No, I did have a lot of other issues, but so far I didnĀ“t have this vfr map bug. Just tried it again starting rwy 21 in EDSB- as soon as I move the throttle --> crash. So I guess itĀ“s also not related to this bulding patch. I will delete some stuff in my community folder, the problem may be there…

Post of the thread right here, @BronneyHui . LOL!

Any SimCity reference is a good one! And in SimCity, this works all the time, every time!

Looks so ugly :man_facepalming:t2: in EDPD

Have you actually installed the community folder fix (click this link)

Yup, Same in Poland. EPWA has some large buildings on the approach to 15 @ 29. It kind off like Kai Tak

CYDQ in Northern BC, Canada. My home town. Population 12000. Three ā€˜large’ hotels and a gov building, all under 8 stories. Departed this morning and found out that we now have a skyline rivalling Vancouver. Impressive urban development.
