Two notable omissions from the default aircraft list are a jet fighter and a jet trainer. FSX had the F/A-18, which I found to be a bit too much airplane for me, but perhaps some time in an advanced trainer like the Boeing T-7 Red Hawk (and maybe a couple of tutorial missions) might prepare me for the demands of flying high-performance fighter aircraft.
There are 3rd party jets available for purchase. Not everything needs to come with the sim.
