Burning Blue Designs Headcorn frames drop after ten minutes on Xbox Series X

Has anyone else on Xbox purchased Headcorn on the Marketplace? It works for about five to ten minutes and then the frame rate drops dramatically before it crashes the game back to the home page.

I’m a reviewer for them and yes it crashes but it depends on what aircraft you use. If you use a default game aircraft it crashes less often. My Suggestion is to just as I report a bug report about the crashing to them on their discord. They are friendly people who are always listening and willing to help. Btw. it happens pretty much with all their airports. It’s unfortunately a memory issue with the Xbox. But keep reporting the crashing to them so they can look into it.

Thanks for posting. I was literally 5 minutes away from buying Farnborough at 50% off but even that discount will be immaterial if the product is unusable.

Could you please post your findings in the main thread that deals with high-fidelity aircraft with third-party scenery on Xbox (General Discussion forum)?

I just picked up Farnborough in the sale and it’s very nice indeed. Not on Xbox but no crashing here.

Thanks. Xbox’s crashing problems are solely down to the available memory running out so a PC comparison isn’t of much use, unfortunately. That said, some Xbox users report issues with certain airports while others with those same airports have no trouble at all. I suppose at 50% off, it might be worth a blast?

Thankyou! I have posted on their forum. When I get a reply I will post it on here. It’s fantastic scenary but maybe a bit too much for the Xbox to handle? Maybe a slightly toned down, less cars less aircraft, Xbox version can be done? It’s shame it’s available in the Marketplace with no comment that it’s going to be as unstable as it currently is.

If it’s anything like Headcorn, it works better with default aircraft, although it can still crash, but with other third party aircraft and I’ve justed a fair bunch, within ten minutes without fail it will crash.

If you don’t get an answer there the best option would be their discord

Unfortunately, after talking with Burning Blue on their Discord, Sim Update 11 starting causing issues with Burning Blue Designs scenary on Xbox and unfortunately there isn’t much they can do about it.

Although all of Burning Blue Designs scenary is clearly fantastic, it simply doesn’t work on Xbox. It will eventually crash your game, sometimes after five minutes, sometimes after ten but if you stay in and around the area, it will crash. Multiple others have reported the same problem on Xbox.

Maybe it’ll be fixed in another Sim Update? But at the moment I would advise anyone thinking of buying the scenary on Xbox to not, as it simply doesn’t work unfortunately.

Very useful info, thanks. I had loaded four of their airports into my wishlist — a real shame but it’s in their (and Asobo’s) best interests to get it sorted as soon as possible.

With all due respect to the developers! A defective and/or broken product which is known to cause CTD’s (at least on xbox) doesn’t belong in the marketplace but in the trash bin!

I find UK2000 scenery library works well on XBOX S & X (I’ve used both) I can 99% of the time fly anything in or out without Black Screen or CTD. We have a problem on XBOX but we seem to ignore it. Scenery libraries may help fill our airfields without killing avionics. Put your heads together developers before we decide to switch off.

I’m on Series X and have 5 of Blue’s Sceneries and use Redhill the most.

When it first relaesed it was extremely crash happy, but I find it now perfectly usable 99% of the time - as long as I’m just setting up the plane and taking off.
It is true though, that too much playing about with the drone cam will inevitably end with a crash. That’s a shame when one of the big draws of scenery like this is the little details.

I’m really hoping that this xbox memory issue is something that will be alleviated somewhat in FS2024 by it’s plan to have more of the sim on the cloud, but time will tell I suppose.

Am also on series X and have experienced CTDs on the larger BBD airfields Goodwood being the worst expecially at busy times or with high detail aircraft such as FI’s warbirds. How ever the smaller green field strips such as Fenland (my RL local) work fine all the time.
I was wondering if with the racetrack strips we could have an option to turn the cars on the tracks on or off?

Thanks guys, this is really useful info while I’m deciding whether to make purchases. There are many high-detail airports that crash the sim on Xbox with excessive use of the drone or external cam, however I’ve largely learned how to manage/limit the resulting crashes. As long as there isn’t a fundamental issue specific to BBD — as in, people are getting them to work — I’m willing to try one of the cheaper ones to gauge performance.

they are all on sale at the min. I bought Fairoaks its very good, no CTDs and it comes with the McLaren MTC right next dooe as a high detail POI

Are you on Xbox though?

Probably not either that or he is not using addon aircraft or he would have experienced the ctd’s

yes im on xbox. series X
