Burning Blue Designs Old Warden (Shuttleworth) on Xbox

Just a heads up warning to anyone on Xbox thinking of buying the Burning Blue Designs Old Warden addon, which although fantastically detailed, is a bit too detailed for the Series X. If you are planning on flying in and out, you might get away with it but staying around the airfield for any amount of time will crash your game.

It’s unfortunate that addons are allowed into the Marketplace that don’t fully work with Xbox or that Burning Blue Designs are not able to do a toned down version for Xbox (there’s a ton of detail in this addon but perhaps a few less people would help things on the Xbox side).

The latest Sim Update is meant to have a work around on this and reduce graphical fidelity when memory gets a bit much on the Xbox. I’ll update this as to whether it works for the addon when the Sim Update is released. But until then, I cannot unfortunately recommend this addon.

I’m not in the least bit surprised. Even the comparatively small Popham could present problems if you did too many circuits or used exterior view too often. Their Farnborough is practically unusable on Xbox Series X.

A shame as, like Northern Sky, their airports/airfields are superb.

Just incase anyone was thinking the Sim Update solves this problem, it doesn’t. Perhaps prelongs it? Perhaps. But if you stay within the area of the scenery for any length of time it will eventually cause the SIM to crash unfortunately.

Thank you for this info, I was looking at purchasing but now i wont til I hear better news.
I also unfortunately find the same issue with their Goodwood package aswell. If only they would remove the animated cars on the track and reduce the internal building decorations as lets be honest most folk only look at it once if at all.
They do some great stuff such as Tattenhill and Stow Marie’s but they dont listen to xbox users when we have issues

Unfortunately not. I have been on their Discord but they don’t want to produce a toned down version. It’s a shame.

It’s pretty baffling to me that it’s on the Marketplace without any warning that it can cause issues.

I will keep trying the addon when there’s any SIM Update that mentions performance on Xbox and report back if does solve anything. But I’m certainly not holding my breath.

I had exactly the same experience. I’ll keep my eyes on this topic for your updates. Thanks :+1:
