I have readed about several problems and issues with the simulator, it seems that the people that have bought the FS2020 are experimenting lots of troubles, low FPS, and many more.
In my opinion, if you flight General Aviation and you want to take a look to the sights you can buy it. But if you are a simmer and you want to simulate, please wait, because you will get the worse experience of your life.
In addition you will expect new updates every week resolving the problems, what is about to download again gigas of data, reinstalling, etc.
This is not a simulator, this is a game made for people that don’t know to flight, and updates will be focus on the game, because flight simmers community is not rentable comparing with the millions of gamers. So don’t expect many more about avionics.
So go for the basic version, do not buy deluxe and wait some months to get a PMDG airliner that works properly. Then you will have a $60 simulator and a $60 airliner because the actual 787 or 747 doesn’t worth the cost.
Regards.
Get 1 month of Xbox and see for yourself… I bought the Premium Deluxe and happy, I knew well what I was getting, so no remorse here.
Patches and updates will be free too so why wait?

Glad I didn’t wait - enjoying a lot right now.
Never had a colonoscopy, huh?

This game was released half finished and buggy. To appease the US flight simmers their country received a lot of extra care and nice graphics while the rest of the world has to be contend with flying through some kind of Fallout 4 Commonwealth which only looks acceptable from above 2000ft AGL.
The planes have been rushed out, a lot of them with almost identical glass cockpits with partial functionality and somewhat erratic autopilots. A lot of switches are either labelled INOP or have, although usable, no apparent function. One plane has the nasty habit of permanently switching off your radio and transponder at one point in mid flight. The Robin DR 400 became unusable about 2 days ago as its engine power does no longer allow even the most modest climbing rate without activating the stall warning
When you use the recommended NVIDIA settings for your computer you will notice that your graphics card is twiddling its thumbs while your CPU is continuously maxed out at 100%. For 2 days now I have been unable to fly as the engine sound stutters and eventually goes mute and the fps going to slide show before freezing completely.
Even before the last events every 3rd flight took me to the mystic airstrip in the Republic of Congo FCAD (freeze- control - alt - delete) usually when descending through 3000ft AGL on final approach.
I am running a watercooled i7/7700 with 64Gb and a GTX 1080.
To say it’s the worst experience of your life is just absurd. If people are really unsure about it, then wait. That’s the obvious answer. Waiting won’t hurt, there’s no need to get it right now. I bought it release day, and thus far I’m enjoying it. There are some bugs and issues that need to be worked out, but I also went into it knowing this. Many major game releases have issues to start, even on gaming consoles. The game will get better with time, and Microsoft is going to be supporting this for many years. I think TC was overly harsh in their assessment of the game, but they’re entitled to their opinion.
I say Wait a few Months when it gets cheaper.
I bought the full version totally regret that now…
Liberty and Justice For All.
I don’t forsee it getting cheaper anytime soon…maybe a holiday sale, but that’s it.
Ohhhh don’t Worry it will get Cheaper!
It ALWAYS GETS CHEAPER!
Liberty and Justice For All.
The price should go up as they bring in new features and updates.
In 6 months it will be cheaper, don’t let them fool you.
I am applying for a Refund.
Im not being fooled, i paid what i paid and i have gotten my monies worth. Most sims dont generally get cheaper as their are not a lot of alternatives. You cant get cheaper than gamepass anyway.
Games in general always get cheaper. You must be new to this scene.
Been Gaming since 1980 Just wait the Price will come down after all the Hype settles.
Liberty and Justice For All.
Just because im not old doesn’t make me new to the scene :).
Wisdom always over rules…
Oh trust me, it doesn’t.
It was great for a week and then on Sunday morning it decided to not work anymore. Throws me out to the desktop when I start a flight. At least I got to see what it was like before it died.
Thats weird. You’re not using that “Set affinity” thing are you?
Have a nice day my communication with you will cease…

I’d say it depends on what you want to do. If you’re looking to fly any of the airliners, don’t waste your time, they are not even close to ready. If you want to take the C-152 out for a VFR flight go for it. The ATC is horrible, the automation is horrible, but the visuals for VFR flight are great. Yes, there are rough spots, but for the most part, the visuals and performance are incredible. I have a rather average system by today’s standards (Ryzen 5 1600, a GTX 1060 6 gb, and 16mb ram) and I haven’t noticed any horrible performance when flying around downtown Manhattan at high settings. It does slow down a bit, but not anything I would consider unplayable.
I would say the C-152 feels like it’s the most accurate representation so far, but it’s still not perfect. The stall characteristics are pretty far off. Try to do an accelerated stall, or an uncoordinated power on stall and the result is a clean slow controlled stall, as opposed to what should be a rather violent break of one of the wings. For most people it’s fine, but I’d hardly call it a simulator at this point. Before I get crucified for criticizing the flight characteristics, I have actual flight time in a variety of aircraft from the C-150 up to the B-737, totaling 9,000 hours.
