i want to buy MSFS Deluxe edition on Xbox Store but have currently already Standard Edition installed through Game Pass as well as some Free DLC’s (World Updates). I have two questions.
Will i have to re-download the whole game + all DLC and loose all my settings or will MSFS just download the missing content? Will i have to re-download everything once my Game Pass subscription runs out? Does anyone have some actual experience how that works?
I heard MSFS is Microsoft universal play (actual name might be a bit different). So i can buy it on Xbox Store and install it on Xbox and PC? I dont need to purchase again on PC?

I did exactly the same thing and encountered no problems at all. The game started and downloaded the additional content and I also play it on my laptop.
I purchased it now, Deluxe Upgrade installed after starting thr game.
hope i will not have to re-download everything once my gamepass subscription ends. That would be extremely annoying
if you buy through Microsoft store not steam , you can have it both on xbox or pc. If you buy an addon through the in-game marketplace ( either fs2020pc or fs2020 xbox marketplace and it is available on both platforms then its buy once get it twice. remember though you cant play both at the same time because they are linked to the same gamer.id. I mostly use the pc version because of the mods and utilities but sometimes I switch over to xbox for more casual flying. I always check content manager on xbox too because sometimes something I own on PC shows up as Owned and available for download on the X
