USB ports vary so it’s always worth checking the mobo’s manual … I do know that USB 3.2 Gen 2 supports 10GB (duplex) but now even that’s been superceded by USB 4 with possibly more on the way.
I would be thinking of adding an SSD Samsung 870 Evo, si there a better option?
Not the question you’re asking, I appreciate that, but when I had a 500gb hard drive I only had a couple of world updates installed at a time (uninstall and install as I needed them).
As for aircraft, I only had 1 or 2 in my community folder at a time, the rest were on an external…I just swapped and changed. I got on very happily with that approach.
The point of my remark was targeted towards external USB (2 or 3) drive. Avoid as much a possible due to the relative poor performance and the volatility of the name assignment which disturb some addons. Anything internal should be fine despite I personal seek for performance and prefer NVME rather than SSD.
