(C:) drive mandatory?

Absolutely true you don’t need to install on C drive in the default location - program/official and community folders. And you can just copy/move the folders to do it. And an SSD is a great choice on where to put it for performance.

Just be sure if you move the files (as opposed to uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch) that you edit the very last line in UserCfg.opt to point to the new location or any time the program finds an update it will want to reinstall back in the original location.

It works great. I originally put FS2020 on my C drive but space was running low so moved to a dedicated m.2 SSD. (On my system, an m.2 SSD is four times faster than a SATA interface SSD.) Much faster and lots of speed.

If you move FS2020 and edit the UserCfg.opt file, you should be good to go.
