C152X Realism Mod

Thanks! It seems to be related to the avionics issues when AI or Live Traffic are enabled. It’s worked just fine for me with those disabled.

At the moment I am not able to replicate this issue. Can you please provide further details of the location and the frequency of the navaid that you have tuned. Also confirm that the applicable NAV/COM radio is turned on. In cold start the NAV/COM radios will default to off (and in this state there will be no needle or to/from flag movements etc on the CDI gauge).

Thanks for looking in to this. I suspect it has something to do with the avionics bug affecting everyone when Live traffic or AI traffic are enabled. Just flew a handful of successful flights with OBS working normally when those options are disabled.

No problem. I have not seen any problems with this so far. I currently have ‘Real-time online’ traffic selected and have had it that way throughout.

In any event, for the behaviour of the to/from flags etc, the CDI gauges are still just referring to the applicable internal simulator variables, so any issue is likely with the sim itself.

just to be clear, as most of us don’t have this issue…the lever circled in yellow is not movable in your C152mod?

Well …I’ll be xxxxxx ! There is a lever there… …and it does work !
I just did not see it !

Thank you for your patience…another irritation removed.

My overhead light rheostat has stopped working under 1.9.3. Can anyone confirm it works on their side please?

(And thank you very much for the mod, the C152 is a real pleasure to fly)

It works for me, it just sometimes needs a loooooooot of mouse wheel turns or clicks to have a noticeable effect, and can be a pain to adjust in turbulence.

First off, thanks to DRF30q for an excellent mod. I love the fact that I can cold start and still get the nav radios to work properly.

This is more of a general C152 question than specific C152X Mod question, but I thought I’d ask here because I would be likely to encounter someone who has flown a real C152. As much as I hope to graduate to the real thing at some point, the sim is as close as I’ve come for now.

In the sim, in both the default Asobo C152 and the modded version, I notice that I really don’t need to use very much rudder beyond some right rudder at takeoff and occasionally while cruising, to counteract P-factor, etc. I seem to have to use much less than I would have expected to stay coordinated when turning. For shallow to medium bank turns the ball barely ever moves, and when it does it usually re-centers without having to “step on the ball”. Is this accurate to real life?

The dimmer doesn’t work for me. I tried turning the little knob next to the dome light switch and nothing would happen. I turned it all the way left and right. It’s still possible I’m doing something wrong.

But I also just wanted to post and say thank you for this mod. I’m enjoying it immensely.

The 150/2 is kinda like a Volkswagen Beetle with wings. (I’m talking about the original Beetle here.) It’s not very fast, will barely climb at 500 fpm on a hot day, and won’t hold a couple of 200 pound people with full fuel.

So… the rudder required at takeoff is not very much… there’s just not a lot of power. The only time I use the rudder is to initiate a turn, and to keep the nose pointed down the runway when landing in a crosswind. In real life, landing is when you tend to be dancing on the pedals a lot. Up in the air, when cruising, you don’t really use the rudder at all.

Important note: don’t for a second think I dislike the little Cessna. On the contrary, it’s my all-time favorite aircraft to fly “just for fun.”

You have to rotate it quite a few full 360 degree revolutions before you see it start to dim the dome light. Hold the mouse button down for like 10 seconds or spin the scroll wheel a bunch and it should start dimming

I can confirm, with only the c152 mod installed, in the c172 classic,
The gps will not turn on.

I’m quite lost at this point … There has been occasions where my GNS has stayed black , but I haven’t seen this problem in a week, even with the C152X mod installed. Like many things in MSFS’ behaviour, it’s quite confusing.

Cold start for me doesn’t work with my Saitek starter switch. The starter has to be held in the sim for a few seconds, but the hardware switch seems to toggle on briefly then off again.

That’s enough to get other aircraft started, but not the modded C152. I have to use the mouse to start it, while leaving the hardware switch on “BOTH/ALL”. There doesn’t seem to be anyway in SPAD to get the switch to be permanently on “START”, and in the software it is not listed as a toggle in the first place.

Would be interesting to hear if you (or anyone else) has any success with that possible solution/workaround.

I noticed that my Com volume is 0 in the G36 when I start on ramp, I have 152x g1000 and 36x mods installed (all newest version)

Can it be your change to start with radios off influence other instrument’s volume ? I’m not sure how it works but I think the fact that you have common files in the ModelBehavior folder and the C152X folder name means your mod is the first to load, maybe the other add-ons use those files too.

I don’t think the mod itself would be the reason, however if I recall correctly, swapping from one aircraft to another while the sim is running, the com volume values persist from one aircraft to another. So if Vol is 0 and you then load another aircraft it will remain 0.

yes, many random events not carried over to next MSFS instance.
However, its no problem to install mod when flying C152 (its fantastic!),
and uninstall when flying C172 classic.
I certainly know when I boot up what I want to fly!
