Hi. The Cessna 172 has some major issues with low speed handling; specifically, it does not generate lift much below 100 knots, so taking off and landing are very difficult, as it tends to nose dive into the ground. The TBM 930, when on autopilot, seems to only fly with a 15 degree bank angle (which the rudder is forced to correct to keep it on course). These issues have only appeared since the last patch. Thanks.
It sounds like you might be another user with the flight model set to Legacy. Try changing it to Modern then try again.
Hi. Thanks for the reply. Can you please advise how/where I do that? I am sorry for my ignorance. Cheers.
From anywhere in the Main Menu, click on Options-General-Flight Model.
Hopefully that fixes things for you @ukflyer
Thanks Guys. I have no idea what the difference is between legacy and modern, however that totally fixed it. I have just test flown both aircraft and they are performing as they should be. Much appreciated!
The modern flight models are designed in a different way.
The legacy flight models are only available to make old FSX aircraft somewhat compatible with MSFS and they don’t work as designed (if at all) with MSFS aircraft.
You experienced the difference. One works well and the other is a flaming dumpster fire filled with horse manure. Why the even have it the game boggles my mind.
The legacy model needs to go, just like how the Press Any Key nonsense went away. It serves absolutely no useful purpose, automatically enables itself randomly which causes confusions for newcomers. Press Any Key died, and now it’s time for the on-rails fsx/p3d flight model to die and burn in hell.
I’ve created a wishlist item to change how the Legacy flight model is accessed/presented to prevent this confusion in the future, please consider upvoting it:
