Same for me…

Yes I observe the same issue.

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.

Do we have to wait again 3or 4 months for SU6 for a fix ?

Hello,

YES, can confirm also at my side, all other surfaces are moving ok.

Can confirm, Elevator does not move on the Classic/IFD.

It works fine on the G1000 variant.

Can confirm as well.

I tried both the IFD wheels, and amphib earlier with no issues so I am guessing this is just cosmetic, an animation glitch.

Yes, the animation is missing but the elevator input works so you can fly it.

Do you ever ask yourself how they break something like this that has worked forever? Obviously they changed something, but the only thing I see mentioned in the change logs is the addition of the Avidyne avionics package.

It makes it hard to help beta test when you don’t have any idea what to look for. Just another example of the lack of communication for this sim.

Update - I searched again and they did mention reversing the elevator trim axis, so I guess that’s what did it. But now I’m scratching my head, because the trim in the classic 172 has always been correct for me. It’s been the PA-28 and the SR-22 that were reversed. I haven’t tried it yet since SU 5 released, but as of the last beta flight last week it had not changed. I’ll try it tonight.

Using Classic/IFD version on my machine, the elevator animation is not working, as reported. Using the G1000, the elevator animation works.

The missing animation also makes it impossible to move the elevator during a pre-flight. You can grab the elevator but it doesn’t move so the item won’t get checked off and you can’t see its condition. Screenshot shows I have the elevator grabbed and the prompt says to move it up and down. No can do, boss.

As with the chocks of the A400M, they will mark it as fixed in SU6 (won’t work nonetheless), then 2nd attempt in SU8 (again won’t work although being marked as fixed again) and we will eventually see a working fix for the elevator of the C172 classic together with a fix for the chocks of the A400M and a fix the disfunctional mixture lever of the Dakota when using a hardware axis in SU17, 2 years after MSFS 2028 got released.

It was so obvious: SU 5.1 released and guess what? It is still not fixed. Ridiculous.

It’s a cosmetic issue that doesn’t stop you from flying plane. They most likely don’t consider it a priority over other things.

Yes maybe it is a cosmetic issue, but is this so much work to fix this one although it is marked as bug-logged? This way I quit flying the standard Cessna and hope A2A release their 172 at the end of the year.

You would need to get Asobo to comment on that. If they are well versed in Blender I would imagine not that long at all. But it certainly wouldn’t stop me from flying it.

It is not only a cosmetic issue. You can’t perform the walkaround, as this affects also the check of the elevator during the walkaround. You simply can’t get a green hook for a successful check of the elevator. So please don’t say it is only cosmetic. It also affects gameplay.

Ah, I didn’t know that. So the animation bug hampers gameplay elements also. Presumably you could pick other variants of the 172 to performan the same tasks though, if you aren’t too hung up on the IFD instrumentation?
