C172 G1000 PFD Softkey bindings no longer available

PFD Softkey bindings no longer available in SU2

All references to PFD softkey’s are missing from the controllers settings. Only MFD softkeys are able to be configured.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
C172 G1000 - PFD Softkey 6 (CDI/GPS/VLOC button on the G1000) no longer worked on my controller. The setting had disappeared completely.

Load the Settings Controls, and search on ‘Softkey’
Only MFD softkeys appear
PDF softkeys have disappeared completely.

This has happened to me after SU2 only and not with SU1. No G1000 bindings at all for FSR500.
All PFD in my G1000 Cessna 172 are missing in the controls setting. Only some of the MFD are available.

Yes, it manifested itself when SU2 was pushed on..err..updated … the sim.

Note: Screenshots indicate I’m using the Sim Update 3 beta, but this issue is present for users with Sim Update 2 1.4.20.0 as well.

This issue should be improved in SU3 Beta Build 1.5.8.0 - however there may still be cases of it. If you run into this issue while on that Beta build, please let us know which aircraft you are using.

I just checked the C172 in 1.5.8.0 and there are no G1000 PFD key bindings visible.

• I don’t see any PFD bindings under Instruments and Systems/G1000, only MFD ones
(in the DA62 it is the opposite, only PFD bindings and no MFD ones for G1000)

@ONEMEANPONY : I have updated the title/tag with C172 since it seems issue only applies for this aircraft.

I get the same results as you with the DA62. I also tested a couple of others. The C208 has both PFD and MFD bindings, the DA42 has neither, the G58 also has neither - I couldn’t be bothered testing any of the others.

I don’t like the amount of uninformed dev bashing that goes on in this forum, but geez when faced with this sort of randomness it’s very hard not to picture a gaggle of Asobo devs standing in front of a clean white wall, throwing balls of mud at it and seeing what sticks…

Hello

This regression is still unresolved in SU3 Beta 1.5.15.0.

The planes I’ve noticed it in are the DA 62 and the C172, though they may appear in other G1000-capable aircraft.

Oddly enough, the DA62 regression expressed itself with the lack of PFD assignments while the full gamut of MFD assignments appears, while the opposite is true for the C172; the PFD softkey assignments are available, while the MFD assignments are absent. This may be helpful in troubleshooting the regression, by determining what G1000-capable aircraft have the PFD with no MFD regression, and which ones have the no-PFD with MFD regression.

Since these instances seemed to be introduced with the release of the SU2 update, it would be reasonable to theorize that something within the SU2 update broke this capability. Equally reasonable theories would be that certain local machine configurations manifest this regression while others are unaffected. (this theory may be disproved by assuming some players just do not notice this regression, due to not using aircraft where the G1000 is installed, etc..)

I hope that this is resolved in the full release of SU3.

That is very interesting indeed.
I’m on SU3(1.5.15.0) and the DA62 has all PFD (including soft buttons) control mappings available, while the C172 only has the PFD breaker options available.
