Hi there. I just want to say hi, and thank you guys for this mod. I love c208 and since i bought mfs in the day of relese, I flying only in this aircraft. I also want to send you my checlist for caravan that i made after watching 100 videos and read POH. If something is wrong with it just tell me
I have tested it again and now it´s working. Had this problem before, after shutting down the engine and starting it again. I am not able to reproduce the problem. I hope you can see the Bindings.
Yeah have the pilot/co-pilot show up after SU8 too. Gonna need an update of mod to get rid of it. The mod being busted by SU8 beta and not seeing a updated version for use with the beta (figured the new ‘fixes’ for the c208b was going to break the mod)kept me from getting in on the beta.
I have had the pilot occasionally show up when come back into cockpit view from outside view over the past year or so. Usually fixes itself with going back out to outside and coming back in again. I have had the co-pilot turned off in the config file but post SU8 he was showing up.
Improvment: added logic for propeller speed governor test switch
Fixed: Min Goverend RPMS set to 1500 RPM.
Fixed: get rid of template related problems, Fixed deice tooltips
Improvment: Added logic for CAS announciation test switch
Fixed: tone warning does not work
Fixed: Cold and Dark configuration. Initialisation of fuelshutoff valve. It is possible now to set the valve to open state and condition leaver to cutoff state.
Fixed: merge with SimUpdate8 model
Known Issues and Limitations
Some Voice Alerts won’t work with NXi (Is not implemented by WT yet)
Fuel and Starter switch does not move when starting with autostart
Some Buttons/Switches do not have a tooltip
Max Payload is negativ (I turns to normal when sliding the slider to zero)
LOL. Oh, so now we’re gatekeeping which planes people can fly based on how they operate it?
Last year I was curious, so I called the Textron turboprop division to talk to an engineer on the C208. I asked if it was possible to put the engine into beta while in flight. He thought about it for a little bit, looked some stuff up and said that was nothing preventing you from doing it in the airplane - but that in the real plane they obviously don’t recommend it.
Who cares how people fly. It’s a simulator and nobody is going to get hurt.
If you want to fly “as real as you can,” fine. Do that. Just don’t even imply that others should stop because they don’t enjoy the sim the same way you do.
I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say you completely forgot to factor in the gatekeeping aspect of the comment I was referring to.
I don’t care if you, or anyone else wants to make sure that things are simulated as closely as possible to the real thing. I think it’s cool, because it makes a better aircraft for all of us.
What I do care about, and will call out, is nonsensical gatekeeping. This simulator, everything that it encompasses, needs to be inclusive. There are sim pilots of all levels that enjoy these planes. Who cares HOW they fly them, whether they’re simulated to the correct orientation of the manufacturer’s name on the bolts, or if they’re deemed a “casual” plane. Are people having fun? THAT is the goal. Not people telling others what they can and can’t fly based on your viewpoint.
I’m sorry, I have to announce that I will stop working on this mod.
It was never my intension to do a mod like this, but I kept going as nobody else was there to do it.
Even when I only had limited time for such things.
But for private reasons I need to stop that, cause I’m currently do not really find time to work on it.
The latest work is available on GitHub.
If someone wants to go further, then this can be forked.
Flightsim has plans to realize a group function.
So maybe if this function already exists (I don’t know), I can share it, for future releases.
OK I found a nice solution to keep both modes of the throttle lever. By default, the aircraft should now load with legacy mode for the first time. you can bind however the controller button to the event THROTTLE_REVERSE_THRUST_TOGGLE. pressing the button will allow you to change the throttle mode between old and new behavior. At the end of the flight simulator will remember the state of the throttle mode so you will not have to switch it over again and again. You can try the change from here: NewoPL/msfs2020-C208-Improvment-Mod: Cessna 208B Improvment-Mod for Microsoft Flight Simumlator 2020 (github.com)
