C408 Skycourier FLC and ALT hold won`t work in career

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: In career mode, the C408 blows past the set altitude when climbing in FLC mode. When trying to manually hold it at set altitude, and then engage autopilot and ALT mode, it starts to climb again.

This is only a problem in career mode. Works fine in free flight

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
yes

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Every time I try to fly the plane in career mode.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Select a medium cargo mission with the C408
  2. Start flight and dial in altitude.
  3. Climb to set altitude with AP on and in FLC mode.

I just started a flight, set my altitude bug to 11,000 feet and activated FLC with a speed of 110kts. It climbed nearly 2,000 feet above the assigned altitude before it levelled off at nearly 13,000 feet, then started slowly descending at about -300 fpm.

I’m wondering if this is a trim issue because the trim wheel is running constantly as it slowly pulls the nose back down. I don’t see an obvious way to reset the trim except to manually spin the trim wheel before takeoff.

Eventually the plane did level off at 11,000 feet after several minutes descending.

• YES

• FLC works fine on initial climb. At selected altitude the AP changes to ALT mode and levels off (though usually 20 to 60 feet above). However, once the airplane starts accelerating in level flight altitude is no longer held and instead starts rising again.
Best way to deal with this I found is to wait until ~200 feet above the selected altitude and then use VS mode to bring the plane back to desired altitude, which this time will be held correctly. This exposes an additional bug though:
After the first botched attempt to hold altitude, there appears a huge discrepancy in the selected and truely flown altitude change rate of VS mode. This is usually at about +600 fpm, so for a true decend of -400 fpm I usually have to select something around -1000 fpm.

Additonally, to prevent the level off bug from occuring in the first place it often (~4 out of 5 times) helps to change from FLC to VS mode shortly before reaching the diesired altitude and let the plane level off from a rate of below +1000 fpm. At this point the discrepancy between selected and flown altitude change rate in VS is also far smaller (~50 fpm).

Hello,

Just a cross-link to say that a fellow simmer (@isoderman) found out that the bug also happen in Free Flight. I was able to reproduce that. Tests on the C208 and the TBM came back negative, no issue for these other planes.

Happy flying,
