Cabri G2 Hard To Cold Start - Secret!

I’ve been very unsuccessful trying to cold start the Cabri G2. Once out of six tries I managed to get it to start but I messed up somehow

The standard checklist doesn’t list “injections” but I’ve tried with 2-3 injections and without, no secret step I guess. (The Advanced Checklist lists injections.)

Anyone else banging on the Cabri G2 cold start?

I have missed the fuel cut-off between the seat backs at least a couple of time… took me a while to realise my mistake! :flushed:

Ah you cheater - not using the checklist. I’m on to ya.

Current hypothesis: I need to check my mappings - the “rt mouse button starter” acts different than whatever I have mapped to a button on my joystick, and I’m wondering about my increase/decrease throttle buttons perhaps acting different than the “left mouse throttle axis”.

I ran the checklist using the mouse button starter and it fired right up. I mouse throttled to 1000 RPM fine, but when I engaged the clutch, the rotor did not start rotating, and eventually the engine quit. Something weird I’m doing, although I’m really trying to follow the checklist and not use my mapped buttons.

Guilty as charged - I generally remember how to start G/A planes and helicopters.

GOT IT - Have to “walk-around” and remove the blade tip protectors… not in the checklist.
