I want to play shared cockpit(your controls) on flight sim from my laptop to my desktop and it seems like I need to buy flight sim twice to run it twice at the same time…
I currently own Flight sim on steam.
If I buy Flight Sim again through the Microsoft store can I buy it on the same Microsoft account that is linked to the steam install or will this cause problems?
Is there any ‘legal’ way that I can play Flight sim on both computers without having to purchase a new license?
Thanks!
Good question, I have the same issue. I own the standard dic version. I have one "game"computer with MSFS installed. And one computer for home use. I hope that its possible to play in the same network like I can do with Xplane. so that I can fly with a friend asside and learn him how to fly.
To a great degree, it does not, and also, the same gamertag can be used in the sim from any device.
The issue is with MSStore purchased addons.
They are only good for the installed device.
You do need to purchase another license.
Thanks for the answer, I suppose I will go ahead and buy it through the Microsoft store as well. Steam and Microsoft Store are updates/kept in feature parity correct? And the Microsoft Store version doesn’t lock you down in terms of being able to modfiy the community folder correct?
Oh yes, all MSFS updates are for both app versions.
It doesn’t touch the communtiy folder, those are your personal files and can be copied, or cut and pasted, or whatever you want to do with them.
Hi, you can install the sim on as many computers as you want. The snag is that you can only have one running at any given time.
If you do want to run two at the same time you will need to buy it twice, which I think is understandable. If two, three…or ten people want to use the sim, then they’re going to have to pay for it. It’s good of them to let us install the sim on multiple computers in the first place, as this isn’t even allowed with many titles. Also, should anyone own an Xbox, they will also get to play it there too (when the Xbox version is released)
Xplane is slightly different as it has the instructor mode?
Regards
Steve
Yes, I believe it allows the instructor to control the simulator, create instrument failures, and the like, as part of training.
I guess you could do the same thing with MSFS, having someone else switch off instruments as long as they exposed to SimConnect.
