The UI is so bad for plane selection, I really want to offload all default the planes I don’t use. I’ve got rid of the premium deluxe pack but I cannot get rid of any base package planes. Most of them I will never use and it’s getting pretty tedious having to sift through them to browse planes that I actually use because the UI is form over function.
I’m assuming that the need in career mode (something else I don’t use) is preventing deletion. Is there any way to remove them?
Find your content.xml file in the documents folder, in the something like “C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024” folder, make a copy incase anything goes wrong or you want to revert back to the original. When content.xml file is open, look down and see what planes you dont want and change “Activated” to “UserDisabled” and then save.
This worked, thanks. Most of the standard planes are now gone. This makes that awful UI a little less annoying to use. I wonder if anyone actually thinks the new UI is good…
I thought so too, until I realized that there was a search field. So it’s unnecessary to delete unwanted machines, as I can immediately filter out the model I’m looking for.
This hangar is not on your PC, it’s just a virtual option to choose from. If you have to scroll through them one by one to find the one you want to use, that’s a problem. But if you already know which one you want to use, then it doesn’t matter whether all the others are there or not, because you just have to type in three of the caracters in the name to choose one of the many.
