everybody has their own take on the new update.
overall for me things have improved.
I was concerned about losing ground over what I had performance wise but I can say without a doubt
that there has been a solid improvement in frame rate averages and smoothness on my setup.
That said - there was an issue with ‘icing’ for the first time - it just killed my FPS in the Carenado Seneca. Also icing seems to be happening more often…of course - it IS winter in the Northern Hemi.
Couple of things I noticed that were not great, the procedurally generated ‘trees’ were suddenly being generated too close to the airplane and too suddenly. It seemed that maybe something on the server side had slowed down dramatically…? and the other is that activating the ATC window will still occasionally cause loss of joystick functionality. The window gets ‘stuck’ either opening or closing and I have to tap the ‘tab’ key to unstick it. I have opened a ticket on this weeks ago but got the canned response to it.
On another positive note - I have spent today some time calibrating my joystick using the MSFS ‘sensitivity’ settings and have solved a ton of issues related to aircraft handling. No more rubberband rudder, no more twitchy takeoffs, no more squirrelly taxiing problems. Not perfect by any means but I think ASOBO added the new features as a stop gap for folks to mitigate some of the more frustrating flaws in aircraft handling we’ve seen.
I have a question: How many here plan to buy the Xbox version and compare performance side by side with their PC ?
I imagine youtubers will be having a field day.
